Ayala Malls Central Bloc joins Earth Hour

Ayala Malls Central Bloc will hold a ceremonial switching off of lights on March 26 at 6:30 pm to take part in the worldwide observance of Earth Hour. Carrying this year’s theme, Shape Our Future, Earth Hour is observed by switching off lights for one hour to increase awareness of the climate crisis and other environmental issues


Also in observance of Earth Hour, Ayala Malls Central Bloc partners with WWF Philippines to hold a virtual run, the Earth Hour Virtual Run, from March 26 to April 22,2022.

Meanwhile, Ayala Malls Central Bloc will hold the ceremonial switching off of lights at the mall’s Activity Center. By 7 pm or halfway through the lights-off activity, a cardio activity will be held. Lights are switched on back by 7:30 pm.

The Earth Hour Virtual Run, on the other hand, is open to all professional and aspiring runners, and even pets as it aims to step up awareness and take action against threats to the environment - nature loss and climate change. The event is in addition to the usual worldwide practice of switching off the lights for one hour on March 26 in business establishments and households.

Earth Hour is observed annually across the world every last Saturday of March by turning off the lights for one hour from 8:30 p.m to 9:30 p.m. The movement is aimed at spreading awareness about sustainability, climate change and other pressing environmental issues. It also calls on people to take action that creates a positive impact on the environment.
