• Fully Booked x Kinokuniya Bookstore Collaboration Opens in Cebu City

Fully Booked is once again joining forces with Books Kinokuniya—this time to bring their popular collaboration to the Queen City of the South.

The newest Fully Booked x Kinokuniya opened on August 22, 2025, at SM City Cebu, will offer the best of both worlds: Fully Booked's signature curated selection of trade books and Kinokuniya's unmatched collection of Japanese titles, including manga, literature, art books, and language learning materials. In addition to books, bookworms and pop culture enthusiasts will also appreciate a sizable selection of Japanese stationery, toys, collectibles, and anime-themed items.

While Fully Booked already has four branches in Cebu, this marks the first Kinokuniya collaboration store in the city, and the first outside Metro Manila, following successful launches at MITSUKOSHI BGC (2022), SM Mall of Asia (2023), SM North Edsa (2024), and the new Glorietta 4 branch (June 2025).

"Cebu is a dynamic city, and the literary community is vibrant. It made for an ideal location for the first Fully Booked x Kinokuniya store outside Metro Manila," says Jaime Daez, Managing Director of Fully Booked. "We are excited to bring this collaboration's unique curation to Cebuano readers."

This newest branch is Fully Booked's 46th store throughout the Philippines. But bookworms should stay tuned as the bookstore chain promises to open more stores in key locations in 2025.

      Kinokuniya and Fully Booked Partnership
"Our collaboration with Kinokuniya began even before the COVID-19 pandemic, around 2018-2019. Kinokuniya explored different bookstores in Manila, including Fully Booked in BGC High Street, and found a great match in our goals. The formal partnership, in which we combined our brands, began in 2022."

      Stationery and Product Offerings
"Our stores carry a variety of stationery items, although not as extensive as those found in Singapore or Japan, because some popular items are exclusive to Japan.

As we grow our business and see more interest from customers, we plan to expand our product offerings. Since the opening of the Mitsuboshi store, sales of stationery have increased significantly," says Jaime Daez, Managing Director of Fully Booked.

      Looking Ahead
"We are focusing on promoting Japanese literature, particularly manga and art books, as well as unique Japanese stationery products. Manga has become especially popular, especially during the pandemic, when many people turned to reading.

The demand for manga box sets surged during the COVID-19 lockdowns, so we plan to continue expanding and promoting our stationery categories, which are known for their high quality and appeal."

To celebrate the opening of Fully Booked x Kinokuniya in Cebu City, Fully Booked is offering exciting promos for its opening weekend (August 22-24, 2025).
