Globe announces the resumption of mobile and internet services in Boracay, one of the areas severely hit by Typhoon Ursula.
The company’s network operations team worked round the clock over the last 5 days to fire up cell sites in the Visayas and Southern Luzon regions and bring back telecommunication services in Masbate, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, Sorsogon, Aklan, Antique, Biliran, Bohol, Capiz, Cebu, Eastern Samar, Iloilo, Tacloban, Leyte, Northern Samar, Ormoc, Panay, Roxas, Southern Leyte and Western Samar.
Even as it brings connectivity back to the affected areas, Globe will continue with its restoration efforts to provide customers full normal service capacity.
Widespread commercial power outages, multiple fiber cuts due to poles being toppled down following strong winds caused the service disruptions.
To continue assisting affected communities, Globe deployed more Libreng Tawag and Libreng Charging stations in Cebu, Occidental Mindoro, Capiz, Leyte, Aklan, Northern Iloilo, and Eastern Samar which are among the provinces severely hit by the typhoon. This is in line with the company's commitment to address the public’s communications needs especially during calamities and disasters.
