    Default anti discrimination bill

Recently, the Committee on Human Rights of the House of Representatives “approved in principle” what could be the first legislative measure on LGBT human rights in the country. H.B. 2784, more popularly known as the Anti-Discrimination Bill, seeks to criminalize discriminatory practices and policies against Filipino homosexuals. Such discriminatory offenses include policies of some schools that prohibit the admission of gay applicants and the use of homosexuality as a cause or reason for the dismissal of lesbian and gay employees. It also intends to punish medical institutions and commercial establishments that refuse or maltreat Filipino homosexuals.
The Anti-Discrimination Bill is authored by Akbayan Rep. Loretta Ann Rosales and was formulated after a series of innovative dialogues with LAGABLAB, or the Lesbian and Gay Legislative Advocacy Network.

    what about this:

    Open for Hiring:

    Sales Staff
    Male or female
    18-23 years old
    college graduate

minimum salary (200 pesos a day)

Dili ni discrimination? what about above 23 years old like me? Im 29 already. college graduate? a lot of pinoys are not college/degree holder like me. Tapos 200 ra diay sweldo a day. Sus!

Approve ko anang bill anyway. I hope ma include na tanan nga discrimination. In the Hongkong, Singapore and US or maybe other progressive country, they are not asking your age. I mean age is not a requirement and a depends on the job if they really want a degree holder or not.

But "Discrimination" also includes all of the stuff he/she mentioned.
Being a "Homo" is the least of the "Discrimination issues."*

Of course the Church SHOULD have a say. That's what the Church is supposed to do. All of us have a say, but the Church shouldn't? Now THAT is discriminmation!

As usual, too many unthinking people invoke "separation of Church and State" without even knowing what it means.

Prejudice is one of the most-studied areas in all of social science. However, most of this study has been directed at understanding the nature, causes, and consequences of prejudice. Though reducing prejudice has been the implicit goal of many researchers, relatively little research has been directed specifically at the crucial topic of how to reduce prejudice and discrimination in our societies. That is "where the rubber hits the road" where psychological theory and research findings must combine to create effective programs for improving social conditions.

We are all aware of horrendous examples of nations that have erupted in open warfare between rival ethnic or religious groups, such as the former Yugoslavia, Rwanda, and Northern Ireland. On a smaller scale, the United States also still suffers every year from hundreds of vicious hate crimes, including killings of African Americans, gays, and other minorities. Despite these appalling cases, we should keep in mind that remarkable positive changes have occurred in our society and others, in the direction of greater harmony and reduced prejudice.
