soft cguro kaayo ning 1.4 wide open due to the very small depth of field.
ahh dah, bisag asa sa duha para nako nindot gamiton^^
actually its not soft because of DOF, soft lang jud cya.
if naa ka budget kay 1.4 lang
naa ko 50mm 1.8.. PRO - cheap, light, nice capture
CONS - inig focus kay saba iya sound den medyo dugay maka.focus, plastic construction so murag dili cya lig-on i.compare sa 1.4
the influence of very large aperture to image softness is big. even the f1.8 and f2 at 50mm from my experience. my cheap 50mm 1.8 at f1.8 is soft na, even at the center or target of the focus point, how much more kung 1.4
reviews say the cheap 50mm 1.8 is a very sharp lens; dubbed even by some the sharpest lens nikon has ever made, but hey, try it with its 1.8 then youll realize the world turned upside down.
guys, we are talking about big holes here =) if this was small apertures, then thats the case i can say soft, say 300mm(from a cheap nikkor 70-300mm G) at high apertures. specially the topic is about primes which made to be sharp.
i know soft-focus lens is a lens flaw due to optical aberrations but still large aperture has its influence.
