• Waterfront Mactan's new Hotel Manager


    Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino welcomed its new Hotel Manager, Mr. Benhur Caballes, a seasoned hotelier who honed his skills in the field of Front Office Operations from different luxurious international hotel chain in the country last July 15. He replaced Theresa Fernandez who is now assigned in Manila.


    He started his career in the hospitality industry at the former Westin Philippine Plaza and worked there for 2 years. He found his passion in this business, he then joined Makati Shangrila Hotel in 1996. Driven by his vision to excel, he filled in several positions in Front Office - Guest Services Associate, Service Leader and Assistant Front Office Manager. In 2007, he joined Alegre Beach Resort as Front Office Manager. During his short stint in the hotel resort, he played a vital role in improving the hotel's room performance in term of revenue.

    Downpour of opportunities came after he joined Waterfront Manila Pavilion Hotel as Front Office Manager in 2006. His exceptional performance paved way to appoint him as Hotel Manager of GHotel Manila by Waterfront. An advocate of innovation, Mr. Caballes led and represented the boutique hotel for three years, uplifting the services and incorporating the Waterfront standards to provide the best hotel experience to guests and patrons.

    Benhur, as he is fondly known, enhanced his hotel management skills when he took up the Managerial Core Competencies Program at Les Roches Ji Jiang International Hotel Management College in China.

    Prior to joining the Waterfront Mactan family, he was appointed Resident Manager of Waterfront Manila Pavilion Hotel in April 2013.

    With his notable attributes and exemplary leadership style, Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino will surely remain as the premier business hotel in the island.

    According to him, one needs to have to passion for this business and that is how everything started for him. He found his passion in this industry. His plans for Waterfront Mactan in this ever changing economy is to give the kind of service that is tailored fit to the needs of the customers and to give commitment, sincerity & care to the commitment of giving service to be able to provide memorable moments to the hotel guests.

    The future development of the airport is a challenge that has to be conquered, so together with the airport development, the hotel has been upgrading and refurbishing - moving forward and going in the same phase while keeping the classic feel of the hotel and yet being dynamic & hip.
