Bakery World 2023 to feature latest trends, international and local chefs
Are you a major player or a start-up in the bakery industry? Would you like to grow your business? If your answer is yes, you must participate in the upcoming Bakery World 2023.
The biggest Bakery and Food Exhibit in the Visayas is on September 14-16, 2023, at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
Organized by the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), Bakery World 2023 will provide industry stakeholders, including start-ups and homegrown, with the latest trends in ingredients, equipment, and technology. The exhibition is part of the annual Mandaue Business Month.
MCCI President Kelie Ko, the Bakery World 2023 committee chair, said the exhibition has much to offer as it will showcase new products, such as bakery supplies, equipment, and baking technology. Exhibitors will be on hand to explain how bakery sector stakeholders can improve their products.
Aside from the exhibitors, international and local chefs will conduct seminars on various baking methodologies. The international chefs will be sharing the best practices abroad, Ko said.
He explained that the chamber wanted the speakers to ensure a variety of topics, such as cake decorating, the science of breadmaking, and food photography. He stressed the importance of food photography as it would help home-based bakers and start-ups sell their products online.
MCCI Trustee Peter Limquiaco said the chamber hopes to encourage industry stakeholders to improve their products by holding Bakery World 2023. That is why the theme of the exhibition is Learn. Innovate. Grow.
Limquiaco explained that the exhibitors will showcase bakery ingredients, food service, and new technology. He added that the chamber has decided to include coffee because it is a growing industry in the Philippines.
On the first day of the exhibition, there will be a Cake Master and Bread Masters Competition. There will be two categories for the cake decoration competition – Wedding Cake and Love Philippines. Competitors must design a cake for the Love Philippines category, showing the country's tourist destinations. For the Bread Masters Competition, participants will vie for the best Bread Art Decoration.
The first prize winner will receive P100,000, while the second and third prize winners will each get P60,000 and P30,000, respectively.
The Mandaue City Local and Cebu Provincial governments also support Bakery World.
Whether you are a big player or a start-up in the bakery industry, the upcoming Bakery World 2023 will provide the needed inputs on maximizing their potential amid the sector's positive outlook.
A market study conducted by 6Wresearch showed that the Philippines Bread and Bakery Products Market size could generate a higher growth rate from 2023 to 2029.
The study cited the increasing population, growing consumer income, and preference for convenient food options as the drivers for bakery industry growth.
The first Bakery World exhibition was in 2019 during the term of MCCI's Past President, Stanley Go.
The exhibition, which will have over 60 exhibitors, is open to everyone. Admission is free. For convenience, the public is encouraged to register online at https://bakeryworld.com.ph/participant-form/.
