The sight of the grand carousel that goes around up and down, merry villagers busy in Santa’s workshop, skiers skiing their way down the slope, the sound of the train that goes around the village, a sweet cinnamon apple scent, and hundreds of lights from the colorful village houses make Christmas come alive at the Christmas Village of Love in Robinsons Galleria Cebu.
Experience what it is like you are part of the Christmas town in the winter wonderland. A must-visit in Cebu, the Christmas Village of Love is the biggest display of Christmas town houses during the winter.
The Christmas Village of Love is a collaboration of Robinsons Land Corporation and Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It is a fund-raising to support charity projects including the children with cancer of Kythe Foundation.
Originally called the Christmas Village of Hope, it was conceptualized by the couple Mr. Clayton Tugunon and Mrs. Joji Tugunon in 2010. It was a CSR activity that they have started to support children with cancer for their medical, socio, psychological and economic needs. One can adopt a house or village and proceeds will go the beneficiaries.
After more than a decade of displaying the Christmas Village, Tugunon sold the entire collection to a group of friends who had the same heart and commitment in helping those who are in need as he was unable to continue the tradition due to health problems.
Mr. Stanley Go along with friends Adrian Lee, Atty. Jennoh Tequillo, Allen Arvin Tan acquired the entire collection to continue the legacy that Tugunon has started. In 2022, Archt. Mike Torres, Michael Eric S. Go, and Christopher Uy have joined with group to help continue with the tradition.
With a bigger collection, the group felt a bigger responsibility to share the collection to the Cebuanos once again in a bigger place. Now called the Christmas Village of Love has found a new home in Robinsons Galleria Cebu.
This year, the new stewards of the Christmas Village have chosen to continue the support for the Kythe Foundation, Inc. and has also a new beneficiary, the Hope of Mandaue Children’s Center (HOMe), a Child Wellness Facility for the less fortunate, neglected, abandoned and abused children.
The Christmas Village of Love opened last November 9, 2022 at Level 1 of Robinsons Galleria Cebu. It is open from 10AM to 9PM. After the holidays, the Christmas Village of Love will be turned into a specialty museum.
It is a whole new experience for the Cebuanos and those who visit Cebu during the holidays. The whole family can enjoy what it is like to be in the middle of a winter wonderland Christmas town in Cebu!
