• Hail to the Princess: Our Adventure Begins! (Part 2)

Hail to the Princess Part 1

      Our adventure begins...

Appreciate and explore the fascinating Puerto Princesa. Take the local rides for a city sightseeing tour.

You have three options to think about:

      a) A Trike Tour is 600php (may seat 3-4 people)

      b) 1000php (group) for the cab rental for the whole day tour

      c) Travel agency package tour for 1500 per person

Without hesitation, we took option A for the first day and B for the second day. See the difference? You do the math.

Taking the A or B is more budget wise than taking travel agencies' offer with its limited time frame tour. One of the advantages of having your DIY trip is the freedom of having more time to enjoy your visit. Without worrying about other guests. You can take tons of pictures too while making friends. Pass by many scenic spots, control your time and go to the places you want to go to.

No worries, Palawaneno's drivers are patient. Nothing beats actually being in a local ride. You get to learn more from the place and have fun.

      Foodie Secrets

Puerto Princesa also has some of the best native restaurants you could dine in.

      Our Lunch at Balinsasayaw

      Balinsasayaw Inato and Grill Restaurant
Located along Rizal Avenue serves great Filipino dishes in town.

Here we are waiting for our lunch

      Big Flat Bread

I was too curious of what crocodile meat tastes like. Big Flat Bread, a top pick pizza house that serves 30 inches tasty Croc Meat Pizza in town is the best! It did taste like a pork mixed with chicken and a little bit chewy. Nomnom! It was an experience.

Thank you, Big Flat Bread! (FYI, Big Flat Bread is now available in Cebu at Offroads, Mabolo, Cebu City!!)

      Kinabuch Bar and Grill

Kinabuch Bar and Grill is famous and a much-visited restaurant in the city. We were expecting to try the best selling menu, Tamilok -- a type of worm found in the mangroves of Palawan. Due to the weather changes, We weren't able to taste the famed "woodworm". According to the servers, tamilok is hard to come by when there is a bad weather.

      Where to at night?

Let's all thank God for the internet! Google directions and Foursquare recommendations will help you explore local places. It will keep you from getting lost and will make your night one to remember.

After a lot of internet searching, we finally found the perfect place to chill at night.

Buko salad, chocolate moist & caramel butterscotch

It is not Starbucks nor Coffeebean nor Bo's Coffee. Itoy's Coffee Shop, located along Rizal Avenue. A homegrown local cafe with its pleasant ambiance and great coffee.

It will help you to feel rejuvenated after a long tiring day of adventure. Have yourself some good, good Zuniga Coffee - the cafe's best seller. A local Starbucks!
