Stellar Recovery: A Fundraising Night with Music

A group of college classmates is inviting everyone to come and join them for a fundraising activity on October 7 at Handuraw Pizza Gorordo to help benefit their classmate Lareina Rajah who has been diagnosed with Lymphoma cancer last August.


Stellar Recovery: A Fund-raising Night for Lareina will be a night of acoustic music featuring local artists. Various items such as artworks, photographs and other various items will be up for auction and sale during the event. The night will be featuring some of Cebu’s best artists namely Kurt Ebarita, Vincent Eco, My Dragon Eats Cat Food, Bethany, Stigma and Silingan ni Felicity for a night of unplugged music.

“Stellar Recovery will be a spectacular night for both the audience and the local artists who have committed their time for this fundraising. We invite everyone to come and enjoy a night of acoustic while helping out our sister. We will have a garage sale including artworks and photography from our friends, books and other assorted items will also be for sale,” Rachelle Sindo, head organizer, said.

The organizers, dubbed as Churbarbies Sorority, a group formed during their time in UP Cebu as Mass Communication students have stood up in solidarity for their sister Lareina Rajah. Doctors unintentionally discovered a mass behind her chest in a routine check-up. Lareina underwent surgery and doctors were able to extract a tumor which biopsy revealed as Stage 1 Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. The fundraising event is to gather donation to assist Lareina and her family of the financial provision that the treatment will cost her.
