    Default Hard drive neodymium magnets

Has anyone here tried to disassemble their old defective hard drives? I never knew that the magnets on them are one of the strongest on Earth!
They're made of neodymium, a rare-earth element which can put your refrigerator magnet to shame.

Imagine all the fun you can have by taking revenge on an Internet cafe owner that has done you wrong.. just place one of 'em CRT monitors, and voila! Even degaussing them won't put them back to normal! (Kids, of course don't try this at home, unless if you want trouble). Or performing magic tricks with it?

Pictures of your magnet's prowess would be welcome. I have an old Seagate 3 GB and a Samsung 40 GB that have just died recently, and all I need to get now is a Torx screw driver, and I'm in business!

Tried this na before.... yep.. the hdd magnets are pretty strong.

You have to be careful when playing around with them though.. The magnetic force between 2 or more magnets might injure your skin. (pinched fingertips, palm etc)

what a bad advice, taking revenge have anyone tried them on LCD's? It won't work since these are liquid unless the polarizers will be magnetized by these neodymium magnets
