    Default Concept of State and Taxes

    mga pips,

    and in-light na pd ni sa mga panghitabua sa PDAF scam.
    and as my indirect duty as a disciple of Law and citizen of this country
    id like to give people a little analogy about state and our taxes for the sake
    of those people why Government/state and taxes are important.

    special dedication to @simoncpui;
    bai if you dont have a family, just asked your friends.

    Now people Imagine this,

    Use a family as analogy with the Father as head of government and the family wealth as the shared resource,
    now imagine the family has 3 children, one already working, one still in college and one still in elementary.

    with this analogy consider this point;
    1. one working guy can pay for himself given he has a good salary
    2. college kid can pay for himself or not depending if he has a part time job or not.
    3. youngest kid has no means for himself since underage.

    in this scenario, the Father is the person of authority(represents the governmet) and the family wealth is the shared resource(represents the peoples budget). In this example, the children never contributed to the family wealth similar to tax since the father has work, but for the sake of example lets just say that there is a family wealth existing. In Government, the family wealth is the TAX collected from the people.

    Therefore;
    1. In the family scenario, is there a need for authority that sets the rules of the house?
    this is the same question as, is the government needed?
    2. If the children is busy with their schooling and job, who will clean the house?
    a. mother
    b. helper - the helper is being paid by the family money. who is managing this money?
    3. when the children are busy and/or young, who represents the country for stability and security? can you let an elementary child decides on whether to get buy a car or an iPad?
    4. WHo checks and balances the family?
    5. who punishes and rewards the family?
    6. If the middle and youngest child gets hospitalized, who pays for their bills?
    7. who plans for the future of the family.
    8. Electricty and water are from provided by private companies, now who will pay these bills, ang youngest?
    9. family has traditions and its own beliefs and policies just like a country.

    family as one entity = people as one state. with your surname as the name of your country.

    now imagine this a large scale family.
    or in an apartment with 4 people note related (mao ni ang challenge kay who is the authority), but believe me, the analogy of the family is there.

    "ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." in short...hehe

    problem is puro lang reklamo tayo mga Pinoy......puro lang salita di man gagawa ng paraan para maayos ang problema....
    like how people just post hashtags in support of the victims of the recent quake, but not even donating goods(or help in repacking on their spare time)

    Mao ni sakto nga discussion, dili emotional bah.

    Your analogy is correct except that your family is being forced to pay for other people's family. OK ra magpa-eskwela sa imong brother nga walay trabaho, pero what if ang uban pamilya naay brother nga 30 yrs old pero mag sige ra gihapon istambay? Sakto ba nga ikaw mobuhi para sa uban pamilya?

    Naa sad ko illustration. Suppose naay call center agent nga 30K/month ang iya sweldo. Nag bayad siya ug more than 5.3K taxes sa gobyerno every month. Suppose walay i-withhold nga tax sa iyang sweldo. Maka save siya ug PHP 63,600.00 per year.

    Now, imagine kung gi-save na niya sa coop or mutual funds, then motubo iyang savings ug 10% year (mas dako ang actual performance sa PSE karon). After 10 yrs kabalo ba ka pila na iyang kwarta? PHP1,013,620.20. That's more than 1 million! Now, what if 20 yrs na siya nag trabaho then nag save siya ug 5.3K every month? At 20 yrs naa na siya PHP3,642,689.97. Private health insurance also works that way, although medyo lahi ra ang computation.

    Karon kanang 5.3K kay gikuha man sa gobyerno. Kung masakit siya, hatagan ba siya ug bisan 500K na lang sa gobyerno? Nope. Moadto pa ka sa City Hall or other government office mag luhod2x unya daghan pa hassle. Unya 2K ra diay ang ihatag. Swerte na ka kaayu kung maka 10K ka. Mao na ang nahitabo karon. Ang mga biktima sa linog puros tax payers unya pila ra gihatag sa Malcanang? 6M. Unsa man nang 6M oi! Nag cgeg bayad ug taxes ang mga biktima unya 6M ra ang gihatag sa gobyerno? Dili mo masuko ana?

    Ma-dato man o ma-pobre, parehas ra gihapon. Ang difference ra sa mga poor kay gamay ra ila gi bayad nga tax, pero lugi gihapon sila. Ang mga upper class kay hayahay ra kay i-pasa ra nila ang tax expenses sa consumers sa ilang negosyo. Meaning, ang middle class ra gihapon ang magbayad. Mao na ako point mga pipol.

    Sakto man ang imo analogy, taxes are needed for the country to survive. Ang problema lang dili fair ang pagka collect, kay ang mga datu either they don't pay their correct taxes. Most of them cheats or as simoncpu says they will just pass the tax to their consumers. Ang mga pobre pod kadaghanan wa gabayad ug income tax, gitagaan pa jud ug PPP so ang nabug-atan pag au ang middle class or working class kay they can't cheat on their taxes because it's deducted from their pay automatically. Plus ang "father" pa sa pamilya ang government sa imo analogy mismo kay bisyoso, sigeg sugal, laag ug pang chicks mao gasto pod sa kuarta nga di unta para iya.

    The concept is there but other provisions should be made to strengthen it against tax evasion. The formula should be fair, I'm still wailing to shed few pesos if it means a guaranteed job for some working Pinoys out there.
