Default Report: NVIDIA shipping Kepler to notebook OEMs

Manufacturing for NVIDIA's next-gen Kepler GPUs is in full swing and the first Kepler parts have begun shipping to notebook manufacturers. The first Kepler powered notebooks will hit retail in April, alongside Intel's Ivy Bridge processors. Kepler is likely to power select performance and high-end GeForce 600M series products. AMD's GCN based HD 7000M GPUs are also due in notebooks around the same time. One such April-bound range is Dell's Alienware line-up, which is based on the Chief River platform powered by Ivy Bridge CPUs, with GPU options such as Radeon HD 7970M (GCN) and GeForce GTX 660M (Kepler). The first major batch of Kepler GPUs are likely to ship out in mid-February. Interestingly, NVIDIA expects to get GeForce GPUs into Ultrabooks. However, due to the thin chassis' thermal restrictions this would possibly only include entry-level GPUs like the GeForce 320M in the previous generation Macbook Air. Source: Fudzilla
