Whats wrong with my DVD?

Ask ko ninyo mga experts, whats wrong w/ my DVD ROM liteon sometimes I cannot see it on windows my computer. I can only see my DVDRAM. actually I have 1 DVDROM( I got this last Nov 2006), 1 DVDRW( Nov 2007). Its old but not that very old I guess I got my DVD rom last NOV 2006.

Karon rani nag ing-ani 2x nako na bantayan...then if di nako cya makita sa my computer ako i restart then its there...I look on the bios its there.

What does it mean... is thats the BIOS ang problem or my DVD ROM, or IDE cable, my IDE cable is very new, and I think my DVDROM is very much in condition..as well as the mobo.

Kinsa naka experience ani? ur suggestion pls..thanks

just to be sure, try another IDE cable...although your current is new, it might be glitchy

try one at a time.. first dvdrw , then ang dvdrom nasad ..kung working ang duha ..meaning walay problema imo optical drives.. check sad psu basin luag mao na mutunga usahay ..usahay mawala.. swap swap lang ...

imong gi kuyog ang imong hdisk w/ your dvd drive in one cable? there are old gen dvd drives that wud intermittently operate kung imo sila isagol in one cable...try to update the dvd drive's firmware if this is the case...

try to switch the jumper shunt of your optical drive. Primary / Secondary or vice versa.

lain pud ako blema sa ako dvd.

naa sya sa mycomputer pro sometimes, dli mo read, sometimes mo read. guba na ni? hehe. thanks

I think solved na in my case! na luag ra cguro ug taud nako..its fine naman wa na problema.

@jobhim23: I think guba na imo DVDROM, pero try ug ilis ug laing IDE cables if mawala ba ang problema. Kay usually if mo detect cya, makita cya pero dili mo base most likely guba cya. Naa prob iyang para read niya.

Start/Run/Regedit

Browse to registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\Control\Class
Key Name: {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Value Data: [Delete All Value Data from UpperFilters and LowerFilters]
Note: Do not delete the Key or the Multi-String Values. Delete only the data values.
Exit Registry and Reboot
