if you can access the switch, much better. make sure the port is enabled. one way to test it is try to connect a pc to it via ethernet port and see if the port LED would lit up.
This is what you do -
1. Make sure the port is enabled. Try accessing the switch and type this command - sh ip int br
You can see if the port is enabled and its status.
2. If the port is enabled, check the duplex and speed. It should be matched to where it is connected to.
3. Make sure you have the correct ethernet cable.
please provide the result of this command show interfaces we will use this for proper troubleshooting of your problem
