A lot of questions have been raised about this incident.

- Why was DEVGRU tasked as a QRF? That's not their job.

- Why was a CH-47 ferrying a Tier-1 SOF Unit? They created the 160th for that job.

- Too many HSLD guys on one chopper.

- How in the hell did the Taliban have the slightest luck hitting a bird retrofitted with advanced countermeasures ...at night ...while also engaged in a gunfight with a Ranger unit?

But still, RIP to these brave warriors.

Do note that this Chinook was fired upon by various weapons (small arms fire and RPGs)--atong choppers diri mag crash due to mechanical failure, so it's not a very good comparison.

Yep. I agree with you, Specialist. I'm not trying to second-guess those guys on the ground who made the decision, nor am I trying to armchair-general the mess.

Just trying to echo the sentiments of one General who was interviewed by one of the major news networks in CONUS.

There is also one "report" that came out by Ann Barnhardt that is quite disturbing. It alleges that some of the Chinook pilots from an aviation brigade stationed in Jalalabad are speaking out and raising questions similar to the ones pointed out by the General. I am in the process of confirming this but I highly doubt I'd get anything out of it ... but it's worth a shot.

Ive known , met and ate with seals na mga escort ni Admiral Archie Clemens back when he was the CINCPACLFT . They are not the typical SEALS you see in the movies na mga mascular , tall , sculpted bodies etc .

Heck you wouldnt even think they are specops but the fact remains , they are the cream of the crop . Ive known aspiring SEAL candidates also , some are 3rd timers . These are what you call murag mga robot na . Huge arms , daganon ang 1.5 mile in just 9 minutes , will most likely snap your neck in a split second but they didnt make the cut . Mind you , these gentlemen prepared themselves for the worst because as they say , " the only easy day was yesterday " .

What I am trying to say , you dont understand it literally , becoming something and someone is in you the moment you are born , its a just a matter of extracting that potential .
