We have to pull out the US troops.
They do not do anything good here in our soil.

I am interested to see how this turns out. Political cards will surely be in play here from both sides.
This will be a test for both PGMA and the justice system.

Govt assures justice for Pinay rape victim
The government, through the foreign affairs and justice deparments, is doing everything it can to serve justice for the 22-year old Filipina allegedly raped by six American servicemen inside the Subic Bay Freeport in Zambales on November 1, Malacañan said Saturday.
In a statement, Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye said the incident will be investigated in accordance with Philippine laws and the Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA), which the Philippines and the United States are part of.
"We will make sure that justice and due process will prevail," Bunye said, adding that full assistance will be accorded to the rape survivor.

Again, even if the woman was a prostitute (and she is NOT according to Subic Bay officials)... every woman has the right to say no. Aside from that, rape is a public crime; the state should offer equal protection to ALL women from rape, whether they are prostitutes or presidents. So it's immaterial whether she was in fact a prostitute or not; we should focus on whether she was really sexually assaulted by those 5 American men, not on what her profession is.
Rape is an underreported crime because women are afraid to report it out of "hiya" and of fear of her character being questioned. People making speculations such as assuming that "the woman was a prostitute" just makes the situation for rape victims worse.
I am appalled that some people here think "prostitutes" deserve to be raped! Condoning violence against women, whatever their profession, is chauvinism at its worst. Contrast that with how Jesus treated Mary Magdalene.
