    Main Entry: free·think·er
    Pronunciation: \-ˈthiŋ-kər\
    Function: noun
    Date: 1692
: one who forms opinions on the basis of reason independently of authority; especially : one who doubts or denies religious dogma

I am not providing my own definition , I am practicing what fits me that provides self satisfaction PHYSICALLY , MENTALLY and SPIRITUALLY based on what is FREETHINKING . I am free of the DOGMA because I dont observe it though I respect it and maybe to a point of the RELIGION itself but not totally because of the belief of a SUPREME BEING . It still does make me a THEIST and you dont have to be an ATHEIST to become a FREETHINKER .

that's correct. you don't have to be an atheist to become a freethinker but you are more likely to be one. after all, freethinking is about reason and rationality. you are practicing what fits you so you're giving your own defintion... hehehe whatever.

Again to clear things out :

Is it because I am a FREETHINKER and at the same time a THEIST thus you think I am giving it my own definition ? Hehehehe ... Chad , indeed ... being a THEIST has its own REASON and RATIONALITY outside the man made dogma's .

I am practicing what fits me because I am not confused but I am convinced . Not all THEIST are like that but all ATHEIST are like that . Thats why its WHATEVER on me .

your being a THEIST has got nothing to do with your claim of being a freethinker. in fact, i am not arguing whether or not you are one. i am just saying you are giving your own definition of freethinker. hehehe... kalma lang fafa spring. i guess it's relative at the same time subjective. so are you a skeptic also spring?

You can be a Christian and still be a free thinker, we are told to test EVERYTHING by scripture. That implies that we are suppose to research all things. Not just what we want to accept, but we do not get caught up by the illusion and the fad of the day, because we are grounded firmly by the scriptures.

    On a silly note:
Stop using the word "Whatever" so much, it is used too much by 13 year old girls who are talking way above her ability to debate. "Oh I have like no real intelligent reply, so like Whatever, dahhhh." Sounds way too California. I know you are much smarter than that. It was voted the most annoying word for a reason.

Whatever (slang), an expression of (reluctant) agreement, indifference, or begrudging compliance.
"Whatever" was voted the word "most annoying in conversation" in a new Marist College poll, easily beating "you know," "anyway" and "it is what it is."

I think the label "freethinker" here is being used arbitrarily. Christianity is all about "freethinking," too, if you think about it. That is to say that a healthy intellectual life is very much encouraged in the faith.
