our life here is like a study, we are learning in a school called earth, and if evil does not exist, we cannot know what is good, just like left and right, up and down, hot and cold, happy and sad and so on...

God give us free will to choose between good and evil... we are learning to be reunited with God, to become like him again, actually, to be gods again... only then if we do good that we can be like God who is omnipotent and omniscient, all good and merciful

of course i will... but we need to analyze, just freely given will not give a value at all, probably will just be spent easily... but if you work hard for it... you will give a value to it, you will not spend it easily... same with God, believing in God faithfully compared to freely believing or not believing... same as working hard to know God

You are right... The Bible speaks of people who don't believe in God to enjoy fire at its worst temperature. (Sorry just to exaggerate things here. Truth is you can't underestimate God's providence and mercy). But what I posted earlier gives you a clue had you analyzed it well the possibility that a person who in his life been stubborn to believe in God can still enjoy heaven at its blissing moment. That's why I asked you, would you still accept the gift you once claimed as non-existent? It's free... theist or atheist...everyone.

Does that sound self-righteous to you?

GETZ? geez... i hate when people like you make it sound like we don't have a choice, and that we HAVE to believe in GOD. as for myself, i don't make quick conclusions. i don't know about you.
I never said that. And i never asked that you would get baptized... And more so, I never mentioned about you not deserving in heaven for being an atheist-agnostic or whatever title you may have there... Maybe you should start thinking why these thoughts keep bothering you. I never said these to you, or I never made it an implication.

But whatever your stand is, I just hope you would also be sensitive enough to these people who are sweating to the max building a place like (heaven {could be the place we really are in right now}), which I think doesn't just hold the believers but also people like you. Even gate crashers are sometimes seen in birthday parties. Of course, you are not.

You want an invitation letter? You could start by LOVING EVERYONE (not that you are not a loving person) including yourself, little by little. If you have this, I don't think life is really meaningless to you and I don't think your life is meaningless to a star billion miles away from here. Kidding...

But seriously, you could start by being sensitive. And I think you are, otherwise you wouldn't want to get involved in matters like these.

by virtue of your unbelief, you wouldn't accept the million dollars at all because it never existed in the first place for you. Why would you accept a million dollars now? (or in this case, accept entry to heaven now) There's no such thing as a million dollars even if it was presented right in your face..

The absence of a belief is pretty much unbelief... which makes it hypocritical... but if you were to take a middle ground, like say its okay if a God existed, and okay if it did not, then I'd probably understand why you would accept the million dollars. The thing is, you're not in the middle ground.. thus I'm also curious why you would decide to accept the million dollars after all?
I think we missed one question here. Why would you? Why the sudden grab of the million dollars?

i rest my case. i realize that this debate/argument is not worth my time at all. kung sa binisaya pa, di gyud ta magkasinabot. oh, to answer your question---because i can buy a lot with a million dollars.

  9. #49
    Because I can buy?

Is this the kind of answer you do when making a thesis?

If ang question were: Why do you take a shower?
Ang imo tubag kay mura'g nun ani...

Because I have water. Because I have the capacity to take a bath. Because I opted to take a shower.

Mura'g dili kaayo bull's eye ang answer. Maybe basin likay lang tingae ka ug tubag... I don't know...

Cg...rest na ni nga case...kay mura'g lain man imo gi focusan og tubag...

well, obviously, you are asking a question to me and you don't accept my answer. it's like asking a question to someone and pretend you don't know, but you actually know the answer already. but since my answer is different from your own personal answer, you won't accept that answer. mao mamugos gyud ka. nangutana ka, gitubag tika. kung di na mao imong ganahan nga tubag---aw wala nakoy mahimo ana. di man ko kahibaw mu basa sa imong utok. sorry na lang.
