is it perhaps because the faithfuls are holding on to something they actually HAVE. -which they loive- from being raped and violated by those who have just nothing, pure nothing?

The "nothingness" is only perceived by those who think they have something. Those who have "nothing" actually are in possession of something of value, but those who have believe they have something cannot comprehend it as a thing of value, because either, a) it is beyond their intellectual and logical faculties to perceive it, or b) they simply choose NOT to experience it

Nothing bad will happen to you if you choose not to give thanks to anything nindot that happens to you.

one attempts to speak from the mouth of logic, and yet fails in an elucidation through logical means, what one refers to as a 'possession of something of value' which is restrictive only to those who are, by implication, 'smart' and those who are, free to choose not to experience it.

this article presents one compelling evidence that there is a part in the human mind that is built to process religion, spirituality, and the concept of GOD. since there is no proof that GOD exist, is it safe to say that believing in GOD is all in the mind?

The author somehow didn't take into account the other side of the angle in which man's belief in God is not just purely a neurological (brain) process. While this has a role in our belief in God, this does not take all the credits. Anthropologically speaking, man has the capacity to love...it is given. William James would call this anthropological values...faith, hope, love...etc. In the case of love... Does a person love because just because after having calculated whether he should love or not his poor brother, the result calls for him to love such needy brother? If he chooses not to love, then he is free to love. But the value, the capacity for him to love is still there.

Or faith. Whether you choose not to believe in God because you thought that, maybe after dome rigid study and some measurements, you thought it would be best if you would not believe in God, fine. But still, the capacity to believe is still there. You still have faith, irregardless if it's being exercised.

It's easy to believe or not to believe in God. But either way... Believing is not just about God's existence whether it can be proven or not. It's also about us having the capacity to believe...

When you say this person should not be loved because he is a murderer, then you are operating logically. But if you say this person should be loved no matter who/what he has done, then here you are operating not just with your brain but also with your HEART.

human capacity to believe is out of the question. the question is whether there is basis, reason, for believing. the question is whether god exists or not -- it is about god. it is not about oneself -- unless one is hopelessly selfish. it's called objectivity.

the heart is a bunch of muscles that pumps blood. it has nothing to do with loving -- objectively.
