    Default BPI ATM Machine did not dispense CASH.



    Earlier at around 1 am I went to the nearest BPI express teller ATM machine to withdraw petty cash 'cause I forgot to bring with me my second wallet. I did the usual steps and keyed in 1500 php. It took a little longer than usual before the machine dispensed my China Bank card and a receipt that shows the amount 1500 but there's a message that says 'Line down 912". It did not show my remaining balance. The thing is, the machine sounded like it's going to dispense cash but it didn't. I waited for a few minutes but nothing came out. I thought it was busted so I tried the other BPI machine on the left and the same thing happened.

    After waiting for 3-5 minutes, I've decided that it might really be busted so I went to the next block where there's three different ATM express machines. There's BDO, BPI and Allied bank (I guess). I tried the same process with the BPI machine and same thing happened. Again, it discharged a receipt saying 1, 500 Line down 912. I told myself that if the same thing happens with the BDO express machine then I quit.

    I checked my ATM balance using the BDO express machine and I was shocked to see the receipt that my account has been deducted 1, 500. I decided not to withdraw cash anymore and just go to the nearest China bank atm machine (I had to take a cab to get there). This time with the CB machine, I checked my balance again and confirmed it was really deducted 1, 500.

    On all of the transactions I had earlier, I took every single receipt and they're with me right now. I'm confused 'cause I did the same thing three times on 3 different BPI machines that all gave me the same receipt. What's weird is that if all three did the same then I should have been deducted a total of 4, 500php. I checked my online account and good thing it only deducted 1, 500.

    I wonder if you guys had the same problem. Some may think that 1,500 is not much but I just can't let this happen twice (if ever). I took the time to browse the net if some people had the same thing and they did! Most especially with BPI! Any suggestions what to do next?

    Below is a screen shot from my online banking account to confirm that 1, 500php was really deducted. (the one enclosed in a red box). The second transaction was transacted 20-30 minutes after the first with CB's atm machine that dispensed cash.

    Go to China Bank and voice out your concerns to them...I believe this would be your best course of action.

    I also experienced the same...

    Last Saturday, I'm using BPI card then mag-withdraw unta ko sa RCBC kay mao may duol nga machine, pero wala jud ni-dispense ug cash, after I checked online na-kuhaan jud ug 7000 pesos, hasol jud kaayo. Naka-file na nuon ko complaint sa BPI then ingon sila 3 - 5 business days mabalik na ako money.

    I'm planning to go later to CB Lahug to file a report. I'll give updates later. I hope I get more response on this. At least this will make more people aware. I've read some blogs and found out that most BPI machines are really problematic. After all that I've had read, I'm planning to withdraw all my money from BPI and just close the account for good. I just hate bad banking service.

    Report asap, kay na deduct nana sa imong balance.. the longer ka mo report, d nana e honor

    pwedi raka mo mo report sa ilang customer service ma'am...mabalik rana nemu after 3day human nemu ug report

    na debit na imong account....i report rana nimo sa CB...ako gibuhat before kai ni file kog report sa CB og BPI.... na refund ko after 5 days....ang tibuok jud to nakong salary ang ni debit..hehehe...

    Report it ASAP ts coz it will take 3-5 days before they can balance the machine that gone hay-wire. anyway's, once confirm, they will just deposit it back to your account. Pls. post the progress of the incident ts, so that our bros and sis here will be inform.Thanx!

    relax lang mabalik rana less than 5 days, u have to buy some time calling them

    I went yesterday at exactly 9am to the nearest CB Branch which is in CB Lahug at JY. I asked for ATM related concerns and was asked to call the toll free hotline number (Manila) printed at the back of my card. I spoke to a representative and explained to her what happened. (Good thing that she was polite. I've expected the worse before I made the call.) She said they can file the complaint themselves to BPI as early as tomorrow (which is today). They couldn't file it immediately yesterday since it hasn't been a day after the transaction occurred. Having reported to them the said issue, she told me I have the option to not go to BPI anymore to file a complaint. I kinda felt relieved 'cause it's less the hassle. Even so, I'm still going to BPI later to file a complaint. It's better nga sigurado. Nina, the cust representative I spoke with, gave me a case number and said that I could call later for updates at around 9am to 10am.

    Ouch~! I wonder how you felt. It must have been very energy draining. This morning, one of my colleagues even thought na what if it was him in my shoes and that he took all the money he has left. The thought of it really scared him that we just couldn't help but burst to laughter.

    Yes, Sir. I will be posting any progress on this 'cause it's good for public awareness. Most especially to people that haven't encountered the same issue yet.
