Buff Knight, created by BuffStudio, is scroller RPG where you never stop fighting the endless waves of monsters that endlessly spawn and try to kill you, as all monsters in video games do. Well, you do stop fighting at one point, which is when you die. But dying is a huge part in this game, as this is the only way to access the shop where you can upgrade your character, and become THE Buff Knight, or Sorceress, whichever class you chose at the beginning.
Your aim in this game (if you play story mode), is to kill the dragon, and save the princess (Hooray for the classics). Now, when you download the game, and open it, you're going to notice one thing about your money, there are crystals right below it. Which usually means, paying to get the good stuff, but you don't necessarily need to, this isn't like clash of clans where a non-paying player will barely get any gems. During each run through, I get around 10-15 crystals, and the things you actually use crystals for are quite cheap, so you really won't have any problem with that.
The game just gets harder and harder the more you get better, and well, after you finish the story, there's still endless mode to play, to waste even more of your time, so don't worry. You'll be able to play this game for quite a long time before you actually stop. Oh, and did I mention that the sounds of this game are extremely nostalgic? It's got the whole classic video game vibe to it, and it's amazing. Not to mention the soundtrack, which I found absolutely amazing. Now, since this is a free to play app, there ARE ads, but they only show up whenever you die and go to the shop, so it's extremely bearable. You can also choose to purchase the premium version of the game for US$1, which gives you a faster walking speed, so you can kill the monsters, and also die faster, and also removes all ads for you. Now you don't really need to buy it, but if you want to support the developer then you might as well.
So to wrap this all up, this game is an amazing way to waste your time, it IS free, and there is a paid version, but the free version is already good enough as it is. It's a fun game, coupled with a very nice and nostalgic soundtrack, which I would totally recommend to anyone who is looking for a new game to play in their free time.
