Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino has a great formula for your sweet tooth: Sugar + the influence of Maldives+ a new and seasoned pastry chef by the name of Chef Adam= a nirvana of sugary treats!
You’re in a for an extra-sweet time as Waterfront welcomed well-travelled Executive Pastry Chef Schihab Ahmed to their impressive roster of food geniuses.
Fondly called “Ched Adam” by his team, the 32-year old native of Maldives lulled the media and selected guests into a saccharine-induced nirvana with his wide selection of sugary treats – including different-flavored French macarons that were simply to die for – in an intimate get-together last Tuesday night at the Treff bar.
With an expertise culled from his stops in 40 destinations all over the world in a career that has already spanned 10 years, Chef Adam now brings his culinary artistry to Cebu and is excited to shower Cebuanos with his own brand of desserts, inspired from the clean and neat culture of his native country.
“Maldives is really a tourist destination. It’s very clean and neat there and that is where I took inspiration from for the pastries that I make,” said the affable chef in a brief conversation with the iSTORYA.NET team.
Educated in France, Chef Adam gained entrée into the competitively prolific world of food creation as Chef Patisserie at the Condé Nast Traveller’s luxury resort in Maldives. Working his way up the hospitality chain, Chef Adam enriched his work experience with employments at such high-brow hotels like the Waldorf Astoria Maldives, The Ritz Carlton Doha, the Four Seasons Hotel in Maldives, and Dusit Thani in Cairo.
In spite of his already loaded resume, Chef Adam continues to learn and develop his wide knowledge base, proof of which is his pursuit of a Master’s Degree in International Management from the University of Liverpool.
That kind of enthusiasm is clearly seen and evident in his dessert offings, especially the aforementioned macarons, which has captured the fascination of Cebuano sweet-tooths even since their debut at the hotel’s dessert hub, Madeleine, three months ago. For more of Chef Adam’s sweet treats, Madeleine out, located at the Gourmet Walk of Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino. For inquiries and reservations, please call 232-6888 Local 8629.
