• Singapore: Where to Go


      There are many places to visit in Singapore, like museums, Instagram-able spots, zoos, shopping, temples, hawker places, and much more.


      When deciding where to go, group the destination for the day according to the location to maximize the trip.

      Download the following apps:
      1. SMRT - this helps in knowing how to go around using the train.
      2. Visit Singapore - check this app for suggestions on where to go. Visit Singapore also has experiential suggestions.
      3. MyICA - ICA is responsible for the security of Singapore's borders—app for Singapore's Immigration and Checkpoint Authority.
      4. Changi App -upon arriving at the airport, turn on your wifi and connect to the airport wifi. With this app, you get information and real-time flight updates. Get guides on where to go within the airport, and pre-book tickets for attractions, events at Changi Airport and the Jewel.
      5. Zig or Grab - for ride-hailing apps.
      6. NETS - app for the NETS prepaid card, use it for paying for public transportation like the bus, SMRT, cabs, or even everyday spending.

      Prepaid Sim Card
      We prefer Singtel. Buy the SIM card at Travelex counters at the airport or any 7-11 stores.

      Train Card
      Buy the NETS one at the MRT station or any 7-11 store. You can use The NETS card to pay for purchases.

      Singapore Zoo

      How to get there via MRT
      Check the SMRT map, and go to Khatib (Red Line) station. A bus at the Khatib station will go directly to the Singapore Zoo. Follow the signs at the Khatib Station. Do take note of the last trip for both the bus and the train so that you can go back before on or before the last trip.

      SEA Aquarium

      Same for Sentosa, one day or two.

      How to get there via MRT
      Check the SMRT Map, and go to Harbourfront Station (Yellow/Purple Line).

      Allocate half a day for The SEA Aquarium. The whole day for Universal Studios is to make the most out of the rides. Spend half a day on the following activities: Scentopia (create your scent), Fort Siloso, Adventure Cove Waterpark, indoor skydiving, and more.

      Where to eat
      Texas Chicken, Hard Rock Cafe, or choose from any food outlets at the food square.

      Supertree Grove

      Marina Bay Area
      It can be a half-day activity. Visit Gardens by the Bay, Flower Dome, Cloud Forest, Marina Bay Sands.

      How to get there
      Bayfront Station (Yellow Line)

      Where to eat
      Shake Shack is the one nearest the Cloud Forest and the Flower Dome. There is also a Mcdonald's and Starbucks near the Golden Garden. The Social Kitchen and Nasi Lemak at the Supertree Grove.

      Roam around the City
      Some attractions are within walking distance away, while some need a train ride - Singapore Museum, Merlion, Dalhousie Obelisk, Anderson Bridge, Lau Pa Sat, Chinatown Heritage Center, Sri Mariamman Temple, Arab Street, Little India, Bugis, Chinatown, Mint Museum of Toys, CHIJMES, and St. Andrew's Cathedral. Visit a City or Google Maps can help map out your route to minimize travel time and maximize places where you can go to.


      Chinatown

      Explore Singapore according to neighborhoods - Katong Joo Chiat, Kampong Gelam, Little India, Chinatown, Orchard Road, Civic District, Marina Bay, and Sentosa.

      Food at Newton

      Food and Hawker places

      8. Absurdities, this one is an experiential dining. A bit pricey, though, but if this fits your idea of food adventure, try it out.



      The Jewel

      Changi Airport is also a destination. Visit the Jewel, and check the Changi App for details.

      Weather
      It is always summer in Singapore, with sometimes a drizzle or rain now and then. Bring light, flowy clothes, and comfortable walking shoes. Check the latest forecast for the area you will be visiting. Bring a small umbrella too.
