      4 Million people: jam-packed crowd, Facebook and social media updates of getting drunk and wasted and/or having fun, complaints of allegedly inefficient crowd control, almost 2000 photographers/videographers trying to get that perfect shot, bumper to bumper slow-moving traffic, impending stampedes and celebrity drools, Sinulog 2013 was considered another one of the city's success.

      However, how do you distinguish devotees from mere spectators? Now, the 4Million has been categorized, probably even slashed off to half or a quarter of its population. With the grand sponsored floats, celebrities waving and throwing off souvenirs, and the crowd going ga-ga, the essence of Sinulog is somehow brushed off to a corner to make way for modern entertainment and a free pass of getting hyped up, or whatever it is that would hype you up.

      May the essence of Sinulog always live in the heart of every Cebuano-- the grand Mardi Gras, all the dancing and the festivities, and the procession and everything else is all for the praise and glory of our Patron, Sto. Nino. May we be reminded that when Sinulog started years ago, all or most were gathered in prayer and in faith and in gratitude of the blessings they have received through Sto. Nino.

      The heavens must be busy if all these 4million bring with them a sincere praise, a sincere prayer, a since gratitude. The catch word is IF.

        1. I hope dili magsakit akong tiil ug akong lawas the next day after sinulog... Hehehehe... Bitaw i hope successful eh eventhough naa mga negativity run sa mga palibot specially sa situation sa cebu run... I hope malingaw tang tanan sa fiesta ug dili unta mag ulan!!! Hehehehe.... Excited na kayo ko bay!!!

        2. E share lang nku kung unsa ka maayo si sr. Sto. Nino sa akoang experience guys... Sauna kay naterminate ko sa akong work way back 2010 pa to nya dili bya ko taga dre sa cebu. I need to look for another job then i wanted to work sa call center industry eventhough balitok kaayo akong ininglesan sauna! Accent pay imo hahhhaha... Kabalo na mo dako ang sweldo ug cool kaayo nga trabaho!!! So i applied several times sa mga centers dre cebu halos tanan naapplyan naku.. And yes! Wa jud ko nadawat bisag kapasar man lang sa 1st interview (banga kaayo no? Hehehehe)... I lived for 6 months here sa cebu no work, no sufficient food, no money!!!... Murag kapolion naku sa amoang probinsya sa negros but i realized kung mu uli ko didto , wala japon income didto so i decided to stay here and give my best shot sa pag pang apply sa call center bisag balik2 na ko usahay hahahaha.... Before and after jud sa kadalakat naku sa akong interview kay mu agto ko sa basilica mag dagkot ug kandila ngayo ug help Niya! Eventhough dili ko kapasar kay magpasalamat ra japon ko nga i survive another day and learned new things sa interview nku... Pila ka months ni labay wala jud resulta bay?, faet kayo mura nako ug mu give up but i need to do this... Kaloy.an tawon after 6 months nadawat ko sa first company nku ug didto na nag sugod akong career sa BPO industry... Lipay kaayo ko nga gi answer nya akong prayer!!! Hapit na gud ko di mu salig sa ginoo ato but i was able to be strong enough to face every challenge, ngayo kog strenght niya everyday ato nga time nga maka survive tawon ko!! Now i am working sa calltek sa may jy and soon to be a team leader and sooner enough kay manager na tawon!!! Hehehehehe... Mao ra na i hope na inspire mu nga dont give up jud!!! Ug pray!!!

        6 years ago. I got married I taught dili ko anak sa akong wife kay 6 months nami minyo then wala pa jud siya na buntis. Pero I have a kid out of wedlock. Ganahan na jud mi magka baby. So, we poured out all our sincere prayer and joined the procession with a replica of Sr. Sto Niño in our hands. WE didn't know or little did we realized that my wife is already pregnant. WE have 2 kids now a 6 y.o boy and 2 y.o. girl & we may have another one on the way.

        If sincere lang jud ta sa atong petition and prayers. Ihatag jud ni Lord.

        i know that being able to wake up every morning is more than a blessing but i would like to ask more and pray that may the Holy Child Jesus bless me and my loved ones more..May HE grant us with health, happiness and success in all of our life's future endeavors. May He bless as well the least of our brothers and sisters' wishes and dreams most especially with their needs, enough food for those who are starving, comfort and hope for those lonely,broken hearted and depressed, cure for the sick and dying, protection for the innocent and abused victims, enlightened heart and mind for the unbelievers,and most especially LOVE and PEACE to each and every one of us here on earth. AMEN...
