• Hail to the Princess: Puerto Princesa (Part 1)

Everybody has a dream destination. We even compiled a have-list-will-travel thing, you know, those long to visit places. Puerto Princesa, Palawan is definitely one of them. It's more fun in the Philippines! Yes, sir!

Puerto Princesa City, situated in the heart of Palawan. An island province located in Region 4. A one-hour domestic flight from Mactan Cebu International Airport. By no less than Cebu Pacific.

Cebu Pacific opened opportunities for travel backpackers like us within the archipelago!

The city has long been known as one of the cleanest and greenest cities in the country. With its countless superb white fine sand beaches, crystal clear waters, beautiful mountain ranges to hike on, crazy-looking trees, great dive spots, cool winds, and yeah, the place where the famous massive cave in the world, Sabang Underground River is.

This is the most unplanned getaway ever, went into several itinerary revisions.

Here are some tips, recommendations, and experiences we had.

Experience with us what it was like to explore the bewitching princess.

We called the getaway a DIY (Do-it-yourself) one. First off, when you travel, there is definitely no expensive tour packages needed. One of the ways you can save is to travel with friends. That includes sharing of hotel costs, meals, and other expenses. Think of a special method and a better option to get a cheap yet awesome Palawan adventure. Then, off you go.

      Hey there, Princess
We arrived at the Puerto Princesa Airport. Safe and sound via Cebu Pacific Air. How amazed I was at how beautiful the princess looks. Green trees, fresh air and was looking forward to the adventures we will all be going on together. Yes, we can already smell Paradise, The City in a Forest! The feeling is exciting, nothing better!

      Where to stay?

Upon arriving, there are many vans and tricycles lined up waiting for passengers.

Choosing a tricycle is cheaper for only 8php. If you are a "budgetarian" traveler, ask the driver to take you to your hostel or hotel.

We booked our stay at JLC Hostel. Located at 26 Old Buncag Mandaragat, Puerto Princesa City. JLC Hostel contact number is 048-434-3589, look for Mr. Dienes Cabular. A recommended hostel that offers you quality, cheap accommodations, and great services.

Stay connected and enjoy their FREE WiFi internet access. The staffs are friendly and helpful. We were a group of 6 and paid only 4800php. So that's 800php each for a 4D/3N stay! Wow. Just. Wow.

Check out Part 2 of this great adventure that we had!
