Trend Micro, which prides itself on being a home for security experts who are #EngineeredToDoGood for Filipinos, has been hosting DECODE for the past five years, providing opportunities not only for networking but also for enabling and encouraging cybersecurity professionals to seek growth and new knowledge in order to improve the cybersecurity industry as a whole.
DECODE 2021, now in its fifth year, will include six keynote speakers across 32 virtual sessions with an expected attendance of more than 2,000 participants. This year's conference, DEC0DE 2021: DEC1DE, will focus on time as a factor in successful threat prevention and resolution decision-making. It will also give professionals the knowledge they need to identify and assess hazards right away. One of this year’s keynote speakers is Alexandru Caciuloiu, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime‘s (UNODC) cybercrime project coordinator, will speak about how cybercrime is evolving and growing in Southeast Asia, and Shane Cross, the Cybercrime Directorate of INTERPOL's Global Complex for Innovation (IGCI) INTERPOL's head of the Cybercrime Intelligence Unit, will speak about cybercrime through the lens of law enforcement.
Included in the lineup are Jay Yaneza, Trend Micro's director of Managed XDR, Mel T. Migrio, Meralco's vice president and group chief information security officer (CISO), Christina Lekati, Cyber Risk GmbH's social engineering security specialist, Lauren Seawright, FBI Cyber Division Intelligence Analyst, and David Sancho, Trend Micro's senior threat researcher. Trend Micro's track lineup, titled (1) The Digital Frontier; (2) No More Secrets; (3) Business Unusual; and (4) Securing the Security Landscape, will also be returning. The four programs will cover a variety of themes and will include a number of guest speakers.
Within the two-day event, participants can choose to attend any of the programs during their allotted time windows. The "Digital Frontier" track focuses on the dangers and vulnerabilities posed by cutting-edge cybersecurity technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). Speakers on the "No More Secrets" program will discuss data privacy, security, and compliance trends and issues.
The tracks "Business Unusual" and "Securing the Security Landscape" will cater to participants' curiosity and introduce the most recent studies in the field and notable cybercrime investigations, respectively, for those interested in cybercrime and forensic techniques across the computing environment.
Following last year's virtual conference shift, DECODE 2021 will include virtual lounges for participants to network and meet fellow professionals between sessions, simulating the on-site networking of prior DECODE conferences. Participants will be able to access the sessions and their materials online for up to a year following the conference.
