The Detox Bar, formerly The Bistro in Maria Luisa, has found a new home in Rumah Highlands Hotel. It is a vegan café and integrative nutrition center. Rumah Highlands Hotel and The Detox Bar share the same wellness principles. Their partnership aims to promote health and wellness.
Rumah Highlands Hotel uses Jikitan technology. All rooms have super carbon charcoal infused in their floorboards and under their beds. This draws out bad energy and leaves guests feeling rejuvenated and recharged after their stay. Charcoal pillows are also for sale in the hotel.
Anne Dala founded The Detox Bar to encourage her advocacy on natural healing. She is a Food Revolution ambassador. She also actively supports the Cebu Farmers Market.
The Detox Bar is known for its health drinks, detox program, and plant-based food. It has eight signature drinks. Each drink concentrates on a strong health benefit. The Moringa drink has chlorophyll, antioxidants, and is high in protein. The Beetroot drink is a good pre-workout drink or energy drink. The Turmeric drink is good for the skin. The Tamarind drink is an appetite suppressant. The Fat Flush drink can help with constipation. The Guyabano drink is especially unique as it has guyabano leaves, which is known for its anti-cancer properties. They also serve Chia Fresca and Lemongrass drinks. Drinks cost Php85 for 250mL and Php120 for 350mL. The Detox Bar serves gluten-free vegetarian dishes. Every dish has a calorie count.
The Detox Bar’s integrative nutrition center has a functional medicine doctor, Dr. Zoe Arugay. Functional medicine focuses on lifestyle changes, nutrition, and exercise. It mainly uses food as medicine. Other services include natural therapy workshops, detox and wellness retreats, yoga therapy, nutrition and diet consultations, customized meal plan designs, plant-based cooking workshops, and holistic health consultations.
Currently, Rumah Highlands Hotel has a year-round Detox and Wellness Retreat Package. It is a three-day retreat that costs Php18,000 per person. Guests get superior room accommodation. They will get a daily therapeutic massage, lifestyle assessment, detox juicing program, Kangen water therapy, colon cleansing, yoga therapy. Other wellness services are also in store for guests.
