The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (CCCI) kicked off this year’s Cebu Business Month (CBM) on June 1. The Grand Opening Salvo took place at The Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu.
This year’s Grand Opening Salvo chairwoman was by Elisa Torres, president of Cebu Manila Homes Realty. The event was hosted by Cebu Holdings Inc. (CHI) and Ayala Center Cebu. SolennHeussaff, a Filipina-French actress, TV host, and model, was the salvo’s featured celebrity guest. There were also production numbers from the Loboc Ambassador Youth Band and the Star System Dance Troupe. The Doce Pares Eskrima group also showcased the Filipino martial art of stick fighting, other weapons, and hand-to-hand combat to promote sports tourism in Cebu. MalaykaYamas, an award-winning fashion designer, also displayed her creations of Trash to Class Fashion Innovation.
The Grand Opening Salvo was an instrument to promote the different Cebuano business industries. It aimed to introduce guests to various industry players. Thus, increasing opportunities for investment in Cebu. Through the One Town, One Product (OTOP) exhibit, a variety of products were showcased. The exhibit was organized in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry.
The CBM’s main goal has always been to inspire, promote, and help grow Cebu’s business sector. This year, the CBM’s theme is “Innovate Cebu” to highlight the importance of innovation in all aspects of a business.
