Mugnâ is an event made to celebrate local talent as the word itself is a Cebuano term which means “to create.” More so, it features renowned local designers’ distinctive collections for the season.
Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa served their “Merienda de Mayo” for the guests to devour. The signature snack delight highlights Cebu’s delectable food including, tasty sweet potato, fresh mangoes, as well as rich and homegrown cacao. It was definitely a perfect treat for summer. The Merienda de Mayo is available at the Lobby Lounge of the hotel.
Invitees relished the afternoon event as they witnessed a fashion episode presenting the pieces of renowned artisans, Mia Arcenas and Jun Escario with respective themes for their collections, “Paraiso” which means Paradise and “Hayahay” which means Relaxation. Along with enchanting music to entertain guests further sung by The Three Legged Men.
Starting off was the highlight of the event, the fashion show featuring Jun Escario’s “Hayahay” collection with designs that depicted an impeccable combination of style that comes with comfort and relaxation. Ensembles were classic, ideal for every fabulous woman.
The event continued with playful pieces made of modern floral and abstract animal prints in a collection entitled “Paraiso” created by Mia Arcenas. The pieces show the essence of a woman that is carefree and effortlessly elegant no matter where she goes.
Everyone was astonished by the masterpieces presenter by two of Cebu’s respectable designers. Each model that went down the runway gave justice to the beauty of the local designs as they impressed the guests of the show.
Mugnâ will continue to feature local couture by the City’s very own talented designers up until August.
Future shows for Mugnâ will be on June 25, July 16 and August 13, and the season finale on August 31.
