Dinner had a different meaning, starting last March 27, 2016 – one that is hot, fiery and blazing at Azure Beach Club’s Teatro El Fuego.
“Azure Beach Club has been making a name on its own and we want to continue that. We have had very good reception with FOAM, our Saturday brunch and day use package with unlimited food and drinks and Teatro El Fuego will be a new addition to our regular offering which will be an entertaining affair for all our guests” explains Kristofer Quadros, General Manager of Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan.
Teatro El Fuego will continue to feature Azure Beach Club’s signature and Chef specialties alongside the night’s bonfire platter – a selection of Hungarian sausages, marshmallow, graham crackers with nutella and rainbow sprinkles, fresh sliced banana and corn on a cob; which is a very, fun activity for families with children and for those who want to spend time “cooking” their food by the beach over bonfire.
For Teatro El Fuego, the dishes served will have a twist – because it will be served flaming. The launch dinner with the media featured individual servings of citron cured salmon carpaccio, tuna tataki and salted egg shrimp tempura with cereal and almond aioli. For the main course it was a fiery spectacle for the Beef carpaccio with truffle ponzu sauce, Chilean mussels infused with sake and aromatics, Salted egg shrimp tempura with cereal and almond aioli, Grilled chicken with crispy wanton salad, Japanese yellowtail collar, Lamb sheek kebab, Steamed whole fish with sake and garlic soy, Ayam bakar and Garlic noodle with rock scallops. For dessert, it was ice cream, but yes it did went through fire – as it was laced with rum and then fired for that smokey fried flavour for the Tempura Ice Cream of Chocolate Cayenne Flambé.
While everyone’s palate is busy with the smorgasbord of flavours and food selection guests were entertained by fire dancers. And yes, while we have seen a number of great performances around the country, these group of professional fire dancers have new tricks up their sleeves. One trick is the levi-wand which was a fire dance and at the same time a semi-magic performance when the wand appeared to be floating on air. And though there are no fireworks, the sparkle which comes with the fire dance numbers created a very compelling visual – like a fountain or thousands of fireflies moving out from a common area.
Teatro El Fuego happens every Sunday night at Azure Beach Club offering flaming specialties from regular menu and fire dance entertainment from 7pm to 9pm.
