• Transgenders Allowed to Join Miss Universe Pageant

Yahoo! News article caught our attention earlier today about a rule change in the Miss Universe beauty pageants next year to allow transgender women in participating said pageant.

Wiki defines Transgender a catchall term for persons whose body is physically one single s*x but the gender they have (the mind) may not match the physical s*x or the mind may be in-between sexes {Have some aspects of both feminine and male roles.} Some transgender persons go on to have surgery to correct the difference between mind and body, but others are able to go without changes and either dress or act in the socially assigned role differently from the body's s*x. Those who are preparing for surgery are called transsexuals, those who have had the surgery, women or men.

The objective of the Miss Universe Pageant organizers for the rule change was to promote equality among transgenders and women.

The advocacy was led by Vancouver resident, Talackova, who underwent genital change 4 years ago after being born male. His/her case is being reviewed in the Miss Universe Organization, after he/she was disqualified from competing in the Miss Universe Canada contest next month.

Talackova's Canadian passport, identifying him/her as F (female).

What makes a woman, then? Is it the genitalia? Passion, feeling? Identification? Who sets the rules? With Philippines also dubbed as the "gay capital of the world", what are the implications of this news? What do you think of the Miss Universe's new ruling? What are your thoughts on this, dear iSTORYAns? Let's talk (Mag iSTORYA ta!)

Yep. Apocalypse is coming. The straights will either hide underground or be subjected to torture. Gay tyranny will rule.

Never have I fully grasped the aim of these pageants anyway. With all due respect to the convivials and the seriously straight indivs, you all are beautiful. You don't even have to flaunt it. If you unabashedly know it deep inside of you, you ain't got nothin' to prove to no one but yourself. Might as well keep it that way.

If they allow transgenders, then why not allow women who went surgeries just to attain the perfect body and a perfect face. hek why not allow everyone was able to become a woman to join. Someday, Trump would really regret this, and the country who sent their she-male would be a disgrace.

Do not get me wrong, I have lots of gay friends. It's just that respect can be earned in a lot of ways. But not this way. It may increase the worth of transgenders but in the same way, it also downgrades the value of a woman.

With Ms. Universe pageant opening up to the trans, what then is the standard intelligent response to "What's the essence of a woman?"

GREAT POINT!!!!I LOVE THAT LINE(If they allow transgenders, then why not allow women who went surgeries)-which means-anybody can join Miss universe na..
TOTALLY CRAZY-if they will allow this transgender to join....it doesn't make sense looking for natural women all these years,to compete and to show what is the essence of being a naturally born woman with God-given beauty and attitude?
our society nowadays tlg....confused na din....tsk3x..

for me? Ms. Universe should be strictly for women only and not for transgenders. I think transgenders have already their own contest but not as prestigious as the Ms. Universe. this is just the same as transgenders competing in a women's sports. is this fare? in our country.. much more.. this is not allowed
