    Default bandwidth scenario

    scenario:

for example i have firewall that have two interfaces ......ethernet and wireless....there are 3 desktop pcs and 8 laptops
laptop users use wireless interface .... they can have internet access tru wireless lan (192.168.50.0/24) and desktop users use the firewall's ethernet port and connecte via 100mbps switch (192.168.40.0/24).

    internet access of 1.5mbps

if all laptop users keep on downloading files up that up to 200mbps+several traffics

affected b ang desktop users nga connected to the ethernet?

If they are all using internet resources, they are all affected by how much bandwidth you have to the outside world. If they are only using resources within the network, all the nodes get 100mbps since that isn't shared amongst nodes. Wireless of course is limited to the WiFi technology they use.

all desktop users were not able to send outgoing emails especially with attachments

at the same time i found out that some of the laptop users are downloading files tru limewire (movies)..................i told them to stop the download

about the ISP issue? im not sure about it, so far okey pa ang browsing

if u can't control those laptop users from downloading all the time, they will consume ur entire bandwidth. better upgrade ur dsl connection.

or i-separate ug network ang wlan ug ang lan and try to define policies to wlan network or prioritize packets coming from the lan.
