As far as I know and what I've heard from Mocha Uson's interview with MIAA GM bato. It needs a law to make this a reality. A law that is passed through Congress. There could be other ways but I'm not sure of it. Like President's EO.. I don't know.

They did changed it before, no reason why we cannot return to its original name.

I'd totally support this. It should not have been named NAIA anyway.

well it used to be called Manila International Airport until Aug 17 1987 by virtue of R.A. 6639... so i dont think "rename" is the right term but rather repel R.A. 6639

it was created by virtue of R.A. 6639 so yes, it requires a law... an EO is not enough!

    Abstain.

If Cory had, as the Tagalogs put it, delikadesa she could have declined. She would have not wanted laws granting naming of places after family. But it was a bill, she could have vetoed, but Congress was feeling Ninoy-ish at that time they would have overriden her veto.

Then again, Cory could have been the one urging Congress to name the airport after her husband. Hey, my husband died (for the country?), we are entitled to have the airport renamed after him.

Nothing wrong with naming airports after people. People name places after a person mostly as a tribute. If one was rich and can own an airport and he/she wanted to name it after his/her baby—he/she can. But if we follow the image's logic, we might as well rename JFK, Indira Gandhi, John Lennon and the eponymous Francisco in Davao.
