compressing files

i have this winrar 3.40. dont really know the "how to's" of this program, but this is what happened.

i compressed the 233mb video file; ang output: 226mb size na compressed file... is this correct?

in-ana na ang capability sa winrar?? as i understand, the process of compressing... maka pagamay na siya sa file. but sa result. not much has changed. i wonder.

di man kaayo ma compress ang video ug mga audio files. suwayi ug compress ug mga text files diba dagko kaayo ug iban sa file size.

sige akong try... wat else pa ang dagko og diff. in terms of compression? gawas sa text?

depende man na bro, if compressed na daan imong video gamay ra jud kaau og difference, try compressing an uncompressed video diba dako kaau og diff. parehas rana sa nag compress ka og setup installer na naka compress na hehehe wala juy diff.
there are compressed na file and there are uncompressed na file.

ah okay, mao diay na.... basin kato akong gi-compress kay compressed nato daan sab bitaw... im trying to compress this cagayan de oro thingie gud kay e send nako thru YM kaso ila mang gi limit og 100mb ra ang file transfer sa YM

you can compress it and break it down into several MBs. i beleive this is called "panning". check out the help document sa winrar, and you'll find it there.

pwede ra pud bro, naa gihapon feature ang winrar ana, adto ka ana sa >Commands >Add files to archive naa sa General tab naa sa ubos dapit naay dropdown na Split to Volumes, bytes. nya pag extract niya kinahanlan usa ra ka directory ang tanan na files para dili mag error.
