    Default 4K Gaming

    Hi all,

Been out of the loop for a while and wanted to know how many of you game in 4k. What are your comp specs, VC's, ram, etc..

The X99 platform with DDR4 and GTX980's in Sli seem to be the sweetspot based on my research.

What's yours? please give us info on your build and feedback on the performance.

    Thanks.

Wow very rich brother. Planning to get a 4k Gaming? How much is your budget? Are you planning to water cool this beast? There's a lot of best specs out there for 4k gaming so it would be best if you state your maximum budget and I can recommend you the "best" hardware components for your "Ultimate Gaming Rig".

Okay ra jd kaayo mag LGA 2011 platform ka if ma kaya sa bulsa and budget is not an issue hehe.
But I think it's really not necessarily needed to go to LGA 2011 platform for 4k gaming because if talking about FPS gain during gaming, ara ghapon na daugon sa imo GPU that's why I decided to go with LGA 1150 platform but that's really up to you, since you opted for a 4k high end gaming rig so mas nice to have ang LGA 2011 jd.

If you are able to afford for a 4k gaming rig, mas nice to have if naka custom loop water cooling ka, not just with the performance but also with the looks, i think bati paminawn if you have a high end gaming rig but you are still on an air cooling so better prepare your budget also for a custom loop setup..

I would also like to hear from people who have tried a 3monitor setup compared to just 1 34" (or bigger) 4k monitor. Comparisons and preferences from you fortunate ones unta.

As far as the sweet spot for price/performance ratio goes, R9 290X Crossfire is the sweet spot at 4k (can compete with a GTX 980 SLI setup, search for HardOCP's review). Although personally, I'd wait for the 390X (which is actually what I'm doing) along with the other new HBM cards coming out sometime soon. At 4k, you don't really need an X99 platform unless you want the extra PCI-e lanes, which also don't make that much of a difference unless you go for a 3-way or more SLI/CFX setup. So I'd personally have a 4790k and 2x R9 290X in Crossfire and a good 1000W PSU (EVGA SuperNova G2).
