4k gaming, win or fail?

4k monitors are on their way, but knowing that these monitors have 4 X 1080P resolutions, do you think this wll be a game changer? or another 3d gaming fail??

Not for now. Unless console porting stops.
Basin by the time na daghan na ug 4k media, it might be feasible. I mean natively encoded media ha and not interpolated because visually it makes less sense viewing 1080p media on 4k screens..

IMO bro, no, we dont need it for gaming.. But if i was graphic artist, id have to get one, do or die.

mao.. graphic artists need this IMO.. Gamers are usually too busy with the people shooting than to notice a 1/4 size pixel of a 1080P display..heheh

If they'll lower the price down below 1k then why not. This makes more sense to me than 3d gaming wise. I tried 3d a dozen times and it just doesn't work out for me. But the time it will take for people to adapt aning 4k, it would probably take a decade. Taas2 pa ni ug run ang 1080p and 1440p isn't even there yet in terms of usage.

1080p is not even the standard res for console games. This is just for Rich people.

IMO, this will be aimed for motion sensor type games.

@Echelnalf the amount of power your going to need to feed this to a console is going to be powerhungry and hot.. 4k monitors at 52 inch plus maybe.. but at native 27 inch gaming.. monitor is going to be very slow

Hmm if i remember correctly, a few years back people said nga unnecessary daw ang jump from 720p to 1080p. Of course ubay2 na ang affordable nga 1080p monitors so 1080p na kasagaran. If much more affordable or at least bang for the buck na ang 4k monitors then it might as well be the future. Also if mid range gpu's can be optimized to have playable frame rates para 4k gaming then why the hell not. For now, 1080p still looks sweet to me.
