    Default Display or GPU problem

    Hi Istoryans,

Maybe some of you have experienced this.

On my Windows 7, mo kalit lang hang with error "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered". Naka dual akong machine but wala ko ka experience ani sa Ubuntu. I already tried updating the device driver. Nag re-install na sad ko sa Windows 7 but same error. Ako gi try ang power saving mode, where less animation and less processing power required, same problem. Pwede ba ma adjust ang GPU processing? Unsay software gamiton?

    Thanks.

update you GPU drivers + software. if you are on the latest drive, REVERT to earlier versions.

if problem persist, check your GPU with other computer if it is running stable. BURN in the GPU using Furmark, if same problem, your GPU has intermittent flaw/defect.

    also check with malware/viruses...
    check conflicting softwares

test pod running onboard video if stable lang imong main system.

I have updated the drivers before and then reverted it to the driver (CD included upon purchase) because it's still the same.

I'm sure there's no conflicting software of virus because it's the same issue after fresh install. I've done it twice.

    I'll try Furmark.

By the way, no issue if I use Ubuntu even if I play movie for over 2 hours.

    Thank you.

thats weird, if that the case.. driver issue jud na. have you verified architecture? 32bit / 64bit?

    It's 64 bit.

By the way, I ran GPU-Z (early morning so it's still cold) and mao ni show sa sensors:

    GPU Core Clock: 300 MHz
    GPU Memory Clock: 299.3 MHz
    GPU Temp: 62 degrees Celsius
    GPU: 1 %
    Fan Speed: 30 %

bro i think @AMD_infinium05 is right, got that same issue before and ended in disposing the VC after exhausting all the possible troubleshooting steps..

as a last resort,..try it on a different cpu and try also your mobo's onboard graphics..

    Hope it helps..

If naa pana warranty TS, ibalik na sa imong gipalitan then pa testingi didto if walay problem... then probably imong unit naay deperensya or incompatibility issue.

Inita ana oi. Unsa imo GPU? And how old? When nag start ang sakit?

Naka experience ko ani a very long time ago due to wrong drivers. Try installing the driver from the cd from the package.

Laptop ni sya and wala ko kaila nga same ug model. Mag lisod ko try sa video card ani with other laptop.

    Wala na pud ni warranty.
    @Echelnalf
I've tried re-installing the driver from the CD including re-installing the OS but same gihapon.

Unsa diay ideal temp sa GPU?

I see. Laptop diay ni. Ideally, mas init jud ang laptop so I can't tell kung mao ba na iya normal temps. Pero IMO, init gihapon na kay naa ko laptop nga karaan, ang nomal temp sa gpu is 54º C. If wala na na warranty, try opening it if naa ka experience pag open and then clean all exhausts and the gpu fan.
