Yes, using a repeater. They are available from most manufacturers that manufacture access points.

master vern does it really require a repeater? what about wifi cards? i believe repeater is to xpensive than a simple wifi card... actually im planning to operate as a local isp in our town using wifi connection w/ 802.11 g technology (if this provide the best connection available in network today).

You want wireless NICs to boost the signal?

If you want to create a small ISP over a wide area, then 802.11a/b/g is not the solution. g/b operate at 2.4GHz and I believe 802.11a operates at an even higher frequency. Those just won't do at all when you are expecting to go through trees and walls. You need to use some kind of No-Line-Of-Site broadband technology. When I was in college, we were playing around with exactly that. We used products from WaveRider (http://www.waverider.com/) and it worked for miles around. This is what some wireless ISPs also use here in the US.

let us start working w/ no trees. just a 20-100 client along the road.. ;p i thought 802.11g provide the highest signal frequency. where did you take your college school? how about the product from waverider? what did you use specifically?

802.11a/b/g have poor range when it comes to concrete walls that you have to remember....

always check indoor range as your reference point because in the Philippines the walls are concrete unlike in the US where walls are made of wood.

if you are offering Wireless Internet connection make sure your customers also have the right equipment like having a WiFi card with good range.

i think you need to set up a tower and a powerful antenna to broadcast your signals. There are after market solutions in ways to boost your signal usually its measured in dB (decibel) strength

repeaters are just access points they are limited by concrete walls.
