Default Do we really need super large PSU wattage para lang ma meet ang requirements needed?

nag research man gud ko about ani... there are other people nga ganahan gyud mo set up og MINI TX, MICRO TX or slimtype nga tx
Limited ra kau ang PSU 160w-280w... unya ganahan mo upgrade sa Videocard nga latest, ram, hard disk, and other components og peripherals...

Model: HP Pavilion s3180d slimline pc
    Upgraded some of the components
    C2D E4400 2.0ghz
    4gig ram ddr2 upgraded
    320HDD
    Geforce GT610 2gb ddr3 64bit upgraded
    DVD/cd/player
    Wifi card 802.11 b/g

    Alan wake: low/mid settings

POWER METER when i play the GAME alan wake with kaspersky internet security sacnning, chrome is open and Dropbox loading

Dota 2 - power meter 80w-88w (mid settings)
Dota 2 - power meter 90w-100w (High resolution settings)
Dota battlenet - power meter 70w-80w(HIGH SETTINGS)
sins of a solar empire - power meter 70w-75w (clashing with enemy battleships at ULTRA HIGH DETAIL)
C&C 3 Tiberium wars - power meter 80w-87w (ULTRA HIGH DETAIL with clashing enemy)
Left 4 Dead 2 - power meter 100w-104w (ULTRA HIGH DETAIL when smashing slashing ZOMBIES)

    yes and no...

atleast ma monitor pud nako ako rig. basin unya ma abuse nako og gamit ba...

nice nang power meter dah. yes all theyre right. sakto ra na imung PSU para sa imung unit. e-base nalang pod gud sa reading sa imung power meter. actually your power meter already answered your question lol. But then again, check the brand of your PSU para ma confirm nimo ang efficiency. kay although 160?watts ang spec sa imung PSU, it wouldn't power that much. 80% for 80+ Certified. less than 70 or even 60 :o sa mga generics

by the way TS, I have made a re-computation. If your PSU has a 160w spec. and if 77% ang efficiency nya (granting), then it's 160 minus 77% = 123w. that PSU would be running "at most" 123w. and with your power meter indicating you're running nearly 100w, I think that is too close. stressed ang PSU at that load with a very little headroom of about about 20watts. However, since you're not experiencing Restarts and power shutdowns, then I guess he can tolerate that load. Other Gurus, correct me if inaccurate akung computation. ang delikado sa ma-buthan ta ug power supply kay ma apil ang ubang components like motherboards, etc

so far wala man sad cgi restart or bug down... dili man sad ko mag overclock or other tweaks sa rig nako... standard ra ang gamit nako sa computer kung IDLE cya 40-50watts ra then browsing, youtube, word docs 50-60 ra gyud..... unya games panagsa mga low pro games ra...... then less rasad ko peripherals gipang taud... dili pareha sa uban naa mga colorful lights and other decoration para nice tanawon ang RIG... dako man gud consumo ang mga add ons sa rig especially sa LED lights and FAN with LED light..

tech guru, maka upgrade pako processor nako ? mo saka ba ang consumo sa wattage? or same ra gihapon.. bisan core2duo lang nga E7500
