FAQ
Can a beginner join Pro Clicks?
Yes, we are basically calling on newbies and beginners to join. The only requirement is that you should in one way, already learned some basic lessons, know how to shoot in manual mode and know most of the functions in Photoshop
I am a pro, whats in there for me to learn?
If you are already a pro and not getting much of the business you desire, there must be something wrong. Try us out and get info on rediscovering your passion, fine-tuning your art and style, your website folio, maybe updating your post-processing and enhancing your service.
Can't I use all my other lenses?
Sure you can. Its a big plus having good pro-level equipment. For this workshop, we only require the most basic equipment to show you that professional photography is still just not about cams and lenses. Also, bringing more stuff in a 3-day, 12 hour-per-day workshop will definitely tire you down as assistants are not allowed
What's the assurance of myself becoming as good as the other pro photographers?
None. Unless you work hard for it. The lessons and techniques are given but you have to work your ass off to get to the top. Photography is just like any other profession. Workshops cant buy you fame. Decipline and hardwork does
Rules?
The latest Photoshop and Lightroom should already be installed into your laptops before the workshop. No netbooks please. Add me in facebook as there will be a short online interview after you have made reservations. Payment is 50% to reserve, balance on the first day of the workshop
The mentor
Joel Olivares is an artist, painter, graphic designer and photographer. He was the first graphic designer to work with Penshoppe in 1985 and has been in the creative field ever since. He got some painting and photography awards but his passion is sharing and has been teaching art and painting since the early 90's up until the present day. In 2006, he started giving lessons in basic photography and 2 years after that, First Clicks was created. The basic photography workshop together with the basic shootouts in wedding and portraits has been going on and has presently mentored more than 200 photographers.
At present he is mentor to Island Clicks which is an international photography worshop based in the Philippines. He is also trek manager and shoot mentor to IBIS which is an international bird photography workshop. While mentoring First Clicks and Pro Clicks, he also maintains Bridal Clicks which is now a 2-day extreme wedding shootout and Body Clicks which is a non-stop sexy, boudoir and nude shootout. Other than these, he spends his time with partners in trying to complete their Philippine bird photography site by going on weekend treks to forests around the islands.
