hi, Im just starting this thread for those who are jobless and with jobs but are not in line with what they finished or what they really loved to do. A lot of published jobs in the classified section in the news papers, brochures and even TV adverts that are asking for a specific applicant to fill in their vacancy, but together with the available position on the top of the advertisement that is bold and underlined sometimes with italics has a fine mark that says one of which: either you should be a graduate of a prestigious school (that falls from the known schools in CEBU) or must be a female or male, must be with pleasing personality, must be among the top 80% of the entire class etc. etc. etc. I cannot stop to think and ask WHY? male or female... and the job is an office job and the degree was offered to both sexes, why then would they segregate either. sometimes they need male to do a mans job and a female to do a woman's job. but then when it comes to profession inside the office i guess it does not need to put this as a criteria on the job advertisement. school, whats the difference if someone graduated in the province, or someone graduated from a prestigious school.
comparing those filipinos here abroad, they are more successful in what they are doing, why? 'coz the clients and companies who are hiring them does not base on gender, on which school they came from but what they know inside, the knowledge they posses.
just my 2 cents.
