    Default Wirless connection Problem

Its been quite a while since I had this problem.

2 PCs that I want to have a peer-to-peer/ADHOC connection.

*My rig Athlon XP 1700+(dont let this fool you that my rig is old its @2.2ghz)
have a wirless card MSI PC54G2 PCI installed.

*HP DV4040 Laptop with wirless capability

So here it is, The wirless connection icon at the buttom right corner says it has a good/excellent signal quality, so the two PCs are now connected the problem
is that I just cant go in to each computers shared documents. The shared documents
can be found but I cant just go in. When I double click the shared documents There is an error says "can't connect make sure you are authorized to access this folder....." or something like that, then thats it, I can't share our documents.

Its very frustrating, I have to burn a re-writtable CD in order to share our documents and my wirless card is very useless.
I even turned off both firewalls.

And by the way i'm using windows XP SP2 on both laptop and my rig.
My MSI PC54G2 wirless card is working fine its brand new, so as the laptop.

Network gurus I need your advise.

Your wireless is working just fine.

Its your Windows XP that wont allow you to access the folders.

    Try this...

right click the folder you want to share.
    select sharing and security
    select sharing tab
    click permissions button
    then enable full control

    Enjoy your wireless peer-to-peer connection!!

There is nothing wrong with your wireless connection/association, the fact that it shows an excellent connection.
The fact that you can see the folders means either your tpc/ip connection works or the windows netbios takes care of it when ip addressing for example is not properly configured (of course netbios protocol must be mounted)

The problem here is in the sharing settings of the folder.. to be sure to set proper permissions to the computer/user who will access this shared folder
