I know their are istoryans here who are lawyers and who have come across some circumstance that needs the aid of a lawyer.

I meant to post this topic on the general sections but found that I may not get a learned answer from there, I believe there are more reasonable people here who can give worthwhile comments or opinions on the matter.

1. What do you think are the main duties of a lawyer towards his client/s?

2. What are your personal perceptions when it comes to lawyers.

1. To represent their clients whether good or bad. In the eyes of the law, everyone is entitled to fair justice.
2. Good because they represent fairness and equality. Bad because they sometimes even if we all know the criminal is guilty, they lawyers can prove the contrary.

I do ask always this question to my lawyer friend during our gathering, and all she answers is "dong ramz i google lang nah, para dili ko maka pamakak.."

Hahaha, diha2x gamay bro. I'm actually gathering a random statistics on how people perceive lawyers.
I can't really classify much on you guys. I'm out of options for now that's why I just want to discuss it here in an open furom atmosphere. Dili gihapon nako magamit ang poll diri, kay limited man ang group though.

Any idea on how to gather reliable data on duties of a lawyer to client?

It's sad nga ani siya. I've read it from somewhere that statistics showed that 80% of lawyers sampled were pessimistic. Ani lang gyud tingale maghuna2x ang lawyer sa? They tend to lean towards pessimism?
