client to client chat in java.

First and foremost this is not a school project. Wala pakoi socket prog, next year pa. I'm practicing lng ginagmay.
Here is the case:
1 server to multiple clients - done
the server can choose which client to chat(1 or more) - done

i want the client can chat with another client/s w/ or w/o the server's idea. any idea here? kai i think of something pero di man solid, basin ma.spaghetti nya ba. tnx

its the same concept as your client to server app. its just that you client will host the server itself. otherwise other clients wont be able to detect each other.

but i want na ang mga client lists ni server, naa sad sa mga clients. maka.pili rasad ang client ug another client to chat with.
if mu.disconnect ang usa ka client sa server, then katong client list pud sa mga client nga ni.connect sa server ma.update sad kung kinsay ni dc.

dali ra jud unta kaayu na bro... all you need are commands, and a bit of creativity..

is this a web-based app or standalone app? if standalone, what type of file is it?
i'm also learning java and c# at the university and still trying to decide whether to concentrate
on java or c#.

all i can say is you will probably need a server to keep track of who is online sa chat network.. then after ana client to client chat na, pwede na di mo agi server.

@Jairoh, just like a said sa other threads nimo og sa PM, naa na'y dedicated server, og didto ang tanan clients mo-connect..
