    Default Bridge to Terabithia

I first saw the trailer of this movie, and thought that it was going to be another fantasy/action/adventure type. But I read the reviews, and got something that was totally different. I watched the movie, and I got something that was even more different. For people who expected talking lions, prophecies and magic, think again. It was something totally different; with all the fantasy and magic going on, there was a lot more. The power of friendship, the pain of loss, and the beauty of our own imagination.... (Hint: for those who watched the movie, and got confused with the constant injection of fantastic creatures, clue in on the word in bold)

This is definitely a must-see for those people who want to look beyond CGI effects and action. I saw 300, and while I was visually impressed with the movie, I was disappointed by its shallow plot. Based on history and a graphic novel/comic, yes, but still, they could have done better. Terabithia, IMHO, is miles ahead.

    9/10

    Any other thoughts?

P.S. I nearly cried during the movie.. heheh. When I got home, I couldn't help it. I guess I need to see a shrink.

Sus I was supposed to watch this one last week in SM but I chose Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny instead (bad movie by the way). Arrr... Anyway, I think the girl actor in Terabithia looks like a little Keira Knightley. I'm hoping I could still get to watch this one.

Luthienne, I highly recommend this movie to you and to anyone else. It can be heartbreaking ; the special effects are very few in between, and the trailer was quite misleading. But all of that was cast aside as I saw the movie. Yeah, and the girl actress (AnnaSophia Robb) was kinda cute too. Disclaimer: I'm no pedophile, but she really is cute, and I wish her success in her future movies (where we expect her to be hot now).

Don't take my word for it, head on to rottentomatoes.com and you'll see it got an 85% rating.

I read the book many years ago so I wanted to see it out of curiousity. It still makes me cry.

A family movie with lots of values! Watched this with some kids during Holy Week and was worth it. I read the book and thought that they would somehow destroy the story but thankfully they managed to do the transition beautifully. The surprising twist is heartbreaking, made some of the kids really cry.

One of the best scenes and my favorite one is when Leslie was running carrying the dog in the rain. It was heartbreaking and sad knowing what would happen next. That was an extremely beautiful and heartwarming scene.

Warning lang, this ain't Narnia especially if you've seen the trailer, lahi jud. It's a story about life and growing up. basta nice family movie. Malanay ka!
