Why do most taxi drivers don't respect pedestrians?

I had more than enough of this crap. Klaro na kaayong ni labang ko sa PEDESTRIAN LANE sa tungod sa HOSPITAL yet they don't stop to let me and my patient pass?!?! Naa na intawn mi sa tungod sa iyang taxi yet nag-move gihapon forward. My patient almost fell and I was technically hit najud sa bumper yet wala gihapon xa ni-stop. Swerte xa nag-dali mi ato og adto sa ER, had I have more time to look at the plate and taxi number paksit unta to. Daghan na kaayo ko og mga kaila naka-experience ani. Do you have yours to share? Just letting off some steam kay until now nag-lagot ko ato ganina.
What can we do as citizens to make a change against this?
Dili lang ni mu-apply sa taxi ha but all motor vehicles sa roads nato but sa ako case taxi jud ang kasagaran ako nabantayan ani.

I had my own fair share of experience as well about sa cab driver. I used to boast the hospitality our drivers have here in Cebu compared to Manila until i had this terrible succeeding experiences nga. This one driver who shouted at me, as in literally shout while im inside his cab made me panic, the problem was I guess he's euphoric secondary perhaps to illegal substance intake. He doesnt take in the directions i gave him instead had his own. Nagtuyok tuyok na nuon mi nya nasuko siya. Another, when i was with my partner, and dropped her sa ilahang balay iya gibalik ug starting rate ang taxi meter. Geez, kay naghatod nadaw ko ug usa ka pasahero. They are neither conversational. But anyhow im not stereotyping them of course, naa paman sad uban na maayo pa ug batasan. Ang ako lang concern, kanang mga taxi operator, i screen na ninyo ugtarong inyong mga driver. Daghan na kaayo tag taxi diri sa Cebu. Wa na gganiy available na franchise or if naa pahirapan na ug mahal kaayo. Nya kung moreklamo ta ang lto kutob ra sa pagpaminaw. Walay lihok. Oplok!

Y seminar nga insakto. Basta mka dali2 ug abot sa boundary, ok na kaayo nila. Ang uban lang ha, kay d man pd tanan driver ing.ana. hehe

its not just taxis. even mga private cars.

honestly had that happened 5 years ago murag mao jud na ako g-buhat na ngali. hahaha.

don't take my sentiments here as stereotyping sa taxi guys ha? not all taxi drivers are this horrible. naa man sad ko experiences nga ok kaayo and driver and pwede pa ma-sturyaan2. but so far sa ako mga na experience usually bati jud especially when crossing the street in the pedestrian lane. kasuway ko hapit naligsan ang ako cousin sa CIC main og taxi nga kusog kaayo og dagan. maygani na-bira xa sa traffic enforcer nga naa sa kilid. sadly wala nadakpan ang taxi kay kusog kaayo og dagan. imagina in front gud na og school. hahay. i do hope naa way to remedy this, not only sa taxi divers but all motorists jud walay exemption.
