Default Are these computer parts compatible?

So I'm building my first pc and I'm scared because I don't really know if these are Compatible Parts ...and if you guys have some first build tips for me that would be greatly appreciated. This PC is meant to be for casual use and light gaming (MineCraft, Sims 3, etc...) and I really need some input on my part selection and if you guys suggest some better parts for the price that would be greatly appreciated! My price range is 600-620 roughly.
Specs:LG DVD Burner Black SATA Model GH24NS90 - OEM

Thats it! Also, do you guys suggest buying extra cooling? If so, what extra should I get?

    old school procie

expensive | slow and power hungry! + expensive mobo..

brandwagon exclusive gyud ka? or want a bang for buck CPU?

i bet that PII X4 965 cud not even catch up with i3 2120

    if u want performance :

    HAVE An Asrock Z77 + i5 < i bet these is as pricey or lesser than than PII X4 965 | A 970 Xtreme

do not use green edition sata HDD, their slower that standard 7200 rpm HDD

change PSU. have a real 550W 80+ PSUs like FSP HEXA

    ZALMAN for cooling or H80 | H100
