Default Difference between CPU cores and threads?

Hi mga kaIstorya, i got some question lng sounds strange but with sense man sad

What is the difference between CPU Core and Thread?

English ra kaau ang naa sa internet gud mag nosebleed ko, kanang naa lng tay maka explain nku kung unsa jud kalahian ana nila in bisaya or bisaya with english gmay (ngita sad ko dre murag wla may related topic ani cguru).

Which is better pud (e.g. Core 2 Quad or i3 [2Cores but 4threads]).

2 core + 4 thread = hyperthreading; in simpler terms: naa kay duha ka trabahante pero ang mabuhat nga trabaho sa usa tinag-duha. so 2 trabaho sa usa ka worker + 2 trabahante = 4 matrabaho.

    4 core + 4 thread = no hyperthreading: i.e. 1 trabahante = usa ka trabaho, so 4 ka trabahante = 4 ka trabaho mabuhat.

but hyperthreading cannot substitute a real core: masdaghan gihapon matrabaho ang 4 cores.

and regarding your example i3 SB is almost always better than Q2Q due to newer tech. depende lang na kung asa nimo gamiton.

I knew it! Mao lgeh to (after exam reaction), Nosebleed lng jud ko. Thanks Fafnir.

So, 2C + 4T is more likely tedious or hago para sa COREs kay 4T man iyang buhaton kaysa 4C + 4T na well distributed jud ang trabaho.

So, in terms of MULTI-TASKING? Which is way better, C2Q or i3?

e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, Browsing, Programming + Simulator (Android Programming) at the same time (not literally you do this at the same time) / shifting2 it will called also as Multi-tasking man sad cguru.

dpnde ug unsa nga core2quad imng psavot bro, pero para nq i would go to core i3... pag wait lng maavot ang 3rd generation i3 bro,, sure q mas paspas.,, mas less mo kaon kuryente., den mas bugnaw..

What do you mean nga "dpnde ug unsa nga core2quad imng psavot bro" ? If your pointing unsa nga nga brand or series? If series, hmm? Katong pinaka power nga Series nila sa Core2Quad katong 3Ghz i guess.

Ng ask rman pud ko what is difference bet. CPU Core and Thread and regarding in performance in terms of MULTI-TASKING, kw jd. This 3rd quarter of the year or 4th? ang release no?

...the difference between CPU Cores and CPU Threads is that Cores are referred to a main processor that processes a 1:1 operation, for instance, 1 operation handles by 1 core (a processor), unlike Threads is referred to a logical processor that processes a 2:1 operation, for instance 2 operation per core as it is 1 logical core per operation for the total of 2 threads per core. A core will be twice in logical if the hyper-trading CPU feature is present. So when you say a quad core with hyper-threading technology is referred to 8 operation at a time, wherein, 4 cores with 2 logical threads in every core, so that's 8 threads in total operations. 8 threads, because, hyper-threading enables the capability of sharing memory on each 2 threads per core just to fully utilize all resources along with the whole operation. Hyper-threading is a logical extended processes by hand allowing 2 operations working together per process. Thus, quad-core with hyper-threading is more faster than quad-core without a hyper-threading, because, a quad-core with hyper-threading contains 8 threads per 4 cores rather than 4 threads per cores of a processor without hyper-threading (HT).

    i3 of course..against C2Q

EDGE is called architecture efficiency.. where output is measured in time vs power consumption

    say : photoshop effects - liquify | 11" x 11" 300DPI 600MB File

CPU Cores : actual number of processors | Logical or virtual

Thread : actual number of processes a cpu core can handle at a time
