need help with gaming CPU upgrade

Hello fellow istoryans,

My main reason to upgrade my CPU is for GW2 (Guild Wars 2). I'm a casual mmorpg gamer and I know that "just" meeting the minimum requirements for an online game, can prove fatal to a CPU's life. I've experienced my CPU crashing and an instant upgrade due to this, so I'm doing some preparation for GW2.

I'm looking to upgrade my CPU by next month so I really do have time to gather your inputs. My budget is at 20k-25k tops for all the CPU components (i.e. MOBO, processor, vcard, heatsink, etc etc.

These might be helpful information so I've decided to include them.

These are my current specs:

• Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E4500 2.2 GHz
• 3 GB RAM
• NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT
• MOBO: Asus P5FC-MX

I used dxdiag to get these info :3

By the way, I'm not THAT techie, but I do get and appreciate any recommendations you may have. (i.e. I'm not that annoying person who would say, "kamahal pud ana oi!" without appreciating why it's priced that way)

You could just add some ram and maybe upgrade the videocard... Aside from that di man siguro gyud kailangan for a mmorpg game.

E upgrade nalang na imung video card... nvidia 550ti or 560ti...

Upgrade nalng na imong uban parts kay dako2x man sad kag budget.

i3-2120 = 4950 G.I
ASUSU P8H61 = 3k or 2nd hand 2k+
VC = 550ti payts rasad or 6770 or higher basta sud pas budget
RAM = kingston 2x2GB = 1k+
500GB HDD = 3k more or less daghan sa BnS
PSU = get a true rated 80+ (500w is good)
Casing = kaw na bahala

Kana TS murag pasok na sa imong BUDGET.

oooh ok ok.. thanks for that.. uhm, what I meant was, based on my experience, I played an online game before where I just met the minimum requirements. After 2 weeks of around 10-12 hours per day of online gaming, my PC crashed, to the point of no return, hehe.. I had to do a major overhaul, from MOBO-processor-vcard, no upgrade was possible.. The repair guy said, a circuit broke somewhere or something...

That's why I'm making some preparations, "just in case.."
